It looks like MVP has found himself a new home in professional wrestling. The official announcement has been made in regards to him signing a new contract to remain with TNA for at least another year. The former United States Heavyweight Champion has been quite pleased with how the company has been utilizing him since he started with them. His status with the company had been a bit of a question mark with Samoa Joe leaving.

In a move that many thought would be impossible, it now appears that WWE will be signing Samoa Joe to a contract very soon. Reports have surfaced that the two sides have come to an agreement on terms. The belief is that the deal will not take place before April, as Joe has already committed to working matches for ROH in the month of March. Despite being a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Joe will be going through developmental still.

As some of you may already know, Samoa Joe showed up at the ROH anniversary show that took place in Las Vegas last night. He addressed the audience, which gave him a rather warm reception, and informed them that he will be gunning for the heavyweight championship. Since he is only signed for four shows and Ring of Honor is unlikely to be able to afford to give him a long term contract, Joe is unlikely to be given the championship.

Since ROH has managed to bring in Alberto Del Rio and Samoa Joe, a lot of fans are under the assumption that their financial issues are over. That is not the case whatsoever. The company was able to sign those guys because they are short term contracts. While it does cost a pretty penny to get big name guys under contract, Ring of Honor is willing to take the risk to bring in revenue. It is being said that long term deals were never discussed.

Based on a vague exchange between the two on social media, a lot of fans are under the belief that Samoa Joe and CM Punk are going to be working a wrestling match against one another in the near future. They are no longer with TNA and WWE respectively. However, the odds of that happening are quite slim. Punk is under contract with UFC, and it is highly unlikely that Dana White would allow one of his fighters to be involved in a wrestling match.

With Samoa Joe gone from the company, there is a bit of a void in TNA. Management reportedly already has a plan in place. With the money that they are saving by the expiration of his big money contract, they intend on investing in new talent. There are a lot of talented performers on the independent wrestling circuit that could be signed for a relatively cheaper price. The company could end up bringing in two or three new stars to develop.

While critics of TNA are hoping for a much juicier story, the departure of Samoa Joe was actually on friendly terms. The two sides negotiated for weeks on a new contract, which meant that the former world heavyweight champion was more than interested in remaining with the company. However, since management is operating with a tighter budget nowadays, they simply were not able to pay what Joe felt that he deserved to be paid.

For years now, WWE has neglected Samoa Joe. He has been a free agent several times over the past decade, and the company has never offered him a contract. That might be changing this time around. Triple H is said to be interested in at least giving Joe a tryout for NXT. Now that he is more influential in the company, some believe that he might be able to convince Vince McMahon to give the former world heavyweight champion a chance at being signed.
