On Friday night, Finn Balor worked the main event of an NXT show in Nashville, Tennessee. The heavyweight champion was given a victory over Samoa Joe. Unfortunately, though, the former leader of the Bullet Club injured his leg during the match. Balor was spotted hobbling backstage and had to use crutch in order to leave the arena. Finn and the rest of the developmental brand are expected to work a show in Indianapolis tonight.

Rumors have it that one of the ideas being floated around backstage in WWE is for Samoa Joe and Finn Balor to successfully win the Dusty Rhodes memorial tournament. That would then lead to Joe somehow challenging Balor for the NXT Championship in a friendly feud. That particular match would more than likely be the biggest draw for the developmental promotion at this point in time.

Since management believed it to be a freak accident, there is no backstage heat on Samoa Joe for the neck injury that Tyson Kidd suffered. Bret Hart, however, has a different opinion. He stated that Joe is doing a finishing maneuver that is far too dangerous. Hart is also hoping that the Muscle Buster does not end up costing Kidd his career.

After the big NXT event last night, Triple H held a meeting with the performers. He praised them for their performance on the show, as it went well above expectations. HHH also thanks the wrestlers for not leaking the Samoa Joe debut to the internet wrestling community. Generally, someone backstage is responsible for getting the word out to one of the various websites. This time, however, the company went above and beyond to keep it a secret.

Up until recently, people backstage in WWE were very confident that Samoa Joe would be starting in NXT during the month of June. However, there is a bit of uncertainty now being thrown into the mix. People are now saying that the start date might be pushed back, which has led to speculation that the two sides have not been able to completely agree on terms of the contract. There is also the chance that Joe could be second guessing his decision.

The internet wrestling community reacted very negatively upon hearing the news that Samoa Joe was leaving TNA. Apparently, the same is true of the locker room. Reports have surfaced that the majority of people backstage are upset that the former world heavyweight champion is leaving the promotion. Joe was very well liked backstage by his peers, and some even viewed him as a locker room leader. His departure has affected morale a bit.

Even though he had been at odds throughout certain points of long tenure with the company, there is still a chance that Samoa Joe could be returning to TNA in the future. When he informed management that he was going to seek other opportunities in the industry, they told him that there was no backstage heat on him for leaving. Officials also informed the former world heavyweight champion that the door for a return would remain open for him.
