In order to sell the brutal beating from Kevin Owens and to hide the fact that he was overseas with the main roster, WWE kept Sami Zayn off of television. That ends next week, as the former heavyweight champion is scheduled to make his television return to NXT. As of right now, he is penciled in to cut a very powerful promo about losing the belt to his former best friend. The character will also come up with a way to get a rematch for the title.

In a sign of just how valuable he has become to WWE, Sami Zayn has been chosen to be the first NXT action figure that Mattel produces. The former heavyweight champion is not a household name yet with the mainstream fans, but he has grown to become quite the marketing asset to the company. Management usually sends Zayn overseas to do promotional work, and he is often brought along to work various live events in other countries.

Over the next couple of days, Sami Zayn is going to be collecting a good amount of frequent flyer miles. He has already been sent to Abu Dhabi to do some promotional work for upcoming WWE live events. He will then head back to the United States in time to work the big NXT event on Wednesday, where Zayn will defend the heavyweight championship against Kevin Owens. Immediately afterwards, Zayn heads back overseas to work a tour.
