Alberto Del Rio
WWE is looking for a new social media manager. While that normally would not generate much interest, it does so here in this case because the previous guy that held the spot was Cody Barbierri, the allegedly racist employee that played a huge part in the controversial Alberto Del Rio release earlier in the year. No word yet on whether or not the release is related to the incident, but more on the story should be revealed in the upcoming days and weeks.
October 24, 2014
Adam Pearce
Rumors were floating around that Nick Dinsmore was given a release by WWE because of backstage politics as opposed to budget cost. Those rumors are gaining steam right now because the company is reportedly interested in hiring Adam Pearce as his replacement. The former NWA champion has been spotted at the performance center a couple of times already this month.
October 21, 2014
Justin Roberts
When news broke that Justin Roberts had been given a release by WWE, fans naturally speculated as to who would replace him in the role. Initially, the belief was that Lilian Garcia would be remaining on Smackdown because it suits her schedule more, but it has now been revealed that she will be making a return to Monday Night Raw. Some are saying that the move will be temporary until WWE can find someone who can fill the position permanently.
October 20, 2014
Justin Roberts
While the news of his release from WWE surprised the fans, Justin Roberts apparently knew that it was coming. A couple of weeks ago, the announcer attempted to trademark his name. No word yet on whether or not that was successful. He is also currently in Hawaii, a trip that appeared to have been booked prior to his release after the latest episode of Monday Night Raw.
October 16, 2014
Brodus Clay
Back in June, Brodus Clay was given a release by WWE, so he informed his fans that his professional wrestling career was far from over. After exploring his options in Japan, the former bodyguard for Snoop Dogg decided to remain stateside by signing with TNA. He made his television debut for the company this week on Impact Wrestling by aligning himself with Ethan Carter and defeating Shark Boy in a match.
October 16, 2014
Brandi Rhodes
Now that Justin Roberts has been given a release by WWE, fans are speculating as to who will replace him as the announcer for Monday Night Raw. Lilian Garcia is said to be ruled out because the Smackdown schedule works much better for her pursuit of music. Byron Saxton is just the backup for now. Brandi Rhodes and JoJo Offerman are the two primary candidates for the role.
October 16, 2014
Rey Mysterio
While the backstage heat between the two sides remains at a pretty high level, it does not appear that WWE will be giving a release to Rey Mysterio any time soon. Management has started to accept that the former world heavyweight champion will not be returning to work anytime soon, but they will not let him out of his contract to help another promotion out. WWE would rather just keep him on the sidelines for the time being, especially since Mysterio has reportedly stopped cashing in their checks.
October 15, 2014
Justin Roberts
When Justin Roberts was given his release from WWE after Monday Night Raw ended, there were a good amount of people who were upset with the company for dropping him unceremoniously. Overwhelmed by the support, the announcer went online and asked fans not to be angry. He stated that he was able to live out his dream for several years. Roberts was one of the more well liked guys backstage because of his passion and enthusiasm for the business.
October 15, 2014
AJ Styles
Back in June, Yoshi Tatsu was given his release from WWE, and many speculated that it would only be a matter of time before he headed back overseas. Earlier this week, he made his return to New Japan by attacking Jeff Jarrett and helped Hiroshi Tanahashi recapture the IWGP Heavyweight Championship from AJ Styles, whom Jarrett was trying to help illegally regain the belt.
October 15, 2014
Justin Roberts
Shortly after he worked Monday Night Raw this week, WWE announced that they have decided to release Justin Roberts after a dozen years o service because they did not want to sign him to another contract. No word yet on why management is letting him go, but the news is probably not well received backstage since Roberts was viewed as one of the biggest wrestling fans in the company.
October 14, 2014
Nick Dinsmore
Earlier this month, Nick Dinsmore was given a release by WWE after the company refused to sign him to a new contract as a trainer. During a recent interview, he hinted on a return as an in ring performer. Dinsmore did not specify which company he would be signing with, but he did state that it was one of the highest profile wrestling companies in the world.
October 13, 2014
Evan Bourne
During a recent interview, Evan Bourne was asked about his time in WWE. The high flying performer revealed that he had a good amount of fun during his stint with the company. However, he stated that management fired him via fax instead of a more personal phone call. No word yet on whether or not that is the new policy for WWE, but in the past, phone calls were made to the performers being given a release.
September 17, 2014
Evan Bourne
Since he actually tried to trick ROH into hiring him immediately after his WWE release, it should come as a surprise to no one that Evan Bourne is now officially returning to the company later on this month when his 90 day non compete clause expires. ROH has officially announced his comeback at the September 27 television taping in West Virginia. No word yet on who his opponent will be.
September 8, 2014
Lilian Garcia
When WWE was releasing employees left and right due to the forced budget cuts, there were several rumors floating around backstage. One of the stronger ones was that management would release Lilian Garcia and Tony Chimel. The idea was to replace them with someone younger and cheaper. Fortunately for the two of them, the release never took place, and they appear to be safe for the time being.
September 6, 2014
Alberto Del Rio
Showing that there is life after WWE, Alberto Del Rio has announced that he will be doing a small world tour in the upcoming weeks. The former world heavyweight champion, who was recently given his release from WWE after a backstage incident, will be working shows in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Puerto Rico and Japan. The initial belief was that WWE would prevent Del Rio from working for another promotion for the next year.
September 4, 2014
Alberto Del Rio
The reunion between Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez has been signed. The former WWE stars, both of whom were given a release within the past couple of weeks, will be doing a show in Puerto Rico together. The story line has already been placed in motion. Del Rio and Rodriguez will be aligned in a feud against Ray Gonzalez, and it looks like they will be portraying foreign heels.
September 3, 2014
Evan Bourne
It is no secret that Evan Bourne wants to work for a major wrestling promotion after being given a release from WWE. However, it is not happening in Mexico. The high flyer reportedly turned down a contract offer from AAA. There are rumors that his younger brother was offered a deal as well. The belief is that Bourne feels that the contract is too restrictive and not financially rewarding enough.
September 3, 2014
ODB
In regards to the release of ODB from TNA, reports are surfacing that the two sides are leaving on good terms. She was not released because of backstage heat or anything. In fact, her contract had expired, and management opted not to renew her deal at this time. The belief is that the two sides could come to an agreement down the line, but nothing is expected to happen until TNA can secure a new television deal.
August 29, 2014
Yoshi Tatsu
When Yoshi Tatsu was given a release by WWE, he was devastated by it because he had been working so hard in developmental to get back to the main roster. However, he is not one to give up on a wrestling career. Reports have surfaced that he will be heading back overseas to sign a contract with New Japan after he finishes up his commitment on the independent circuit.
August 24, 2014
Alberto Del Rio
The hot rumors right now is that WWE is going to prevent Alberto Del Rio from working for another wrestling promotion in the United States for the next year. In exchange, the company will continue to pay him, even though he has been given a release. That has led fans to speculate as to how much money he will be given. The belief is that it will not be the full amount of the contract, as he will not be paid for working live events.
August 21, 2014
Kofi Kingston
With Ryback making his return on Monday Night Raw, many are wondering about the fate of his former tag team partner, Curtis Axel. It looks like management will utilize him as a role player in the singles division. The former Intercontinental Champion worked a match this week against Kofi Kingston on WWE Main Event. The company really likes having a veteran performer like Axel around, so job security should not be an issue anytime soon.
October 29, 2014
Ryback
Since he was no longer a topic of discussion, Ryback managed to have his return to Monday Night Raw fly under the radar. That, in part, helped to generate a much better reception for the former main event performer than expected. WWE fans in the arena chanted his catchphrase and cheered for him, while online fans helped his name become a trend on various social media websites.
October 28, 2014
Ryback
Through his Twitter account, Ryback revealed to fans that it has now been 18 days since his surgery, and he has been recovering extremely well from his still unknown injury, which is rumored to involve his groin. He should be making a return to WWE very soon, as he is now pain free. He might not be rushed back, though, as management really doesn't have a story ready for him.
September 15, 2014
Ryback
When word broke that Ryback was injured, there were some reports of skepticism from WWE officials that there really was no injury. However, the legitimacy of his health has been proven, as Ryback has posted a video of himself in the hospital. He clearly did go under the knife. It is being said that Ryback has worked with strained groins and hernias for the last year.
August 28, 2014
Ryback
Since Ryback is on the shelf for a couple of weeks, it will be interesting to see what WWE does with Curtis Axel. There were already plans being discussed a couple of weeks ago to split up the tag team, so it should come as no surprise if management opted to use the injury as an excuse to accelerate those plans. WWE no longer believes that Axel is worthy of being a top level guy, but they do believe he can still be a useful member of the roster.
August 27, 2014
Ryback
There was a little bit of a buzz earlier in the week when Ryback posted a message about taking time off from WWE. It escalated a bit further when he deleted the comment from Twitter, which is something that he has done several times in the past. It has now been confirmed that he suffered some sort of injury and will be needing a few weeks off of the road to recover.
August 27, 2014
Big Show
Since management wasn't completely sure what to do with them upon their returns, WWE has seemingly decided to put Big Show and Mark Henry into a tag team. The duo demolished Curtis Axel and Ryback on Smackdown. The belief is that Show and Henry could be placed into a big tag team match on a pay per view against Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.
August 11, 2014
Erick Rowan
Reports are surfacing that WWE will be throwing a last minute fatal four way match together at Summerslam 2014, where Cody Rhodes, Goldust, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, Curtis Axel and Ryback will all be vying for the tag titles. Management does not view this division to be a priority at this time, even though fan interest has grown.
August 7, 2014
Ryback
Rumors are floating around that WWE is going to be splitting up Curtis Axel and Ryback very soon. Since neither guy has a ton of momentum right now, it does not appear that the move is being done to give them a push. WWE views Axel as just a guy on the roster nowadays, and Ryback has been in the doghouse with management for quite some time now.
July 23, 2014
Xavier Woods
On Monday Night Raw this week, Xavier Woods, who is only used sporadically on television by WWE, made a surprising appearance after a tag team match featuring Curtis Axel, Ryback, Kofi Kingston and Big E Langston. He cut a quick promo about how Kingston and Langston cannot get very far in WWE by being nice guys. This is the start of the long rumored stable, which has already been compared to the Nation of Domination by fans online.
July 22, 2014
Kofi Kingston
Some more names have been added to the upcoming WWE Intercontinental Championship battle royal. Big E, Curtis Axel, Dolph Ziggler, Rob Van Dam and Ryback are now in the match at WWE Battleground 2014. They join Kofi Kingston, Damien Sandow, Great Khali and Antonio Cesaro. As of right now, the company is favoring the idea of giving the title to Cesaro.
July 2, 2014
Cody Rhodes
In a match that was slightly held in higher regards than a filler match, Goldust and Cody Rhodes, who worked under his Stardust gimmick again, defeated Curtis Axel, who was sporting a ridiculous looking singlet, and Ryback. The match was designed to highlight the Stardust character. Since there was a little bit of action after the match, there is a chance that WWE could be continuing this feud.
June 29, 2014
Curtis Axel
In a match designed by WWE to accelerate the split between the brothers, Curtis Axel and Ryback defeated Cody Rhodes and Goldust in the second match of Payback 2014. Ryback picked up the pin fall victory for his team after delivering the Shell Shock to Rhodes. Afterwards, Rhodes told Goldust that he needs to find a better tag team partner for himself.
June 1, 2014
Triple H
A rather interesting move took place on Monday Night Raw, as Sheamus captured the WWE United States Heavyweight Championship by winning a battle royal. The move was designed to take the belt off of Dean Ambrose, which would increase the friction between the Shield and Triple H. Final five guys in the ring were Ambrose, Sheamus, Jack Swagger, Curtis Axel and Ryback.
May 5, 2014
Paul Heyman
"I got absolutely nothing from that. It's a time period I will not even think to look back on." - Ryback talking about how disappointment he was with his partnership with Paul Heyman
May 2, 2014
Ryback
"I came in 2012 and burst on the scene. I believe I was the most popular thing. Before the 'Yes Movement' with Daniel Bryan, there was the 'Feed Me More' movement. I took the WWE by storm. I was undefeated for some time, sometimes taking on two guys at one time. I jumped in the main event scene very quickly and stayed very popular with the WWE Universe for a long time. We made the switch and went an opposite way and took it all away. Not that I necessarily agreed with it at the time, but I feel it was a good move." - Ryback talks about WWE takiing away his push
May 2, 2014
Curtis Axel
Earlier in the week, it was reported that Curtis Axel and Ryback would be receiving a shot at Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso and the WWE Tag Team Championship at Extreme Rules 2014, management has decided to put the match on the next episode of Monday Night Raw instead. A rematch at the pay per view is a possibility still.
April 27, 2014
Jimmy Uso
As is usually the case with every pay per view, you can expect WWE to do last minute additions to the Extreme Rules 2014 match card. Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Curtis Axel and Ryback are expected to get the seventh match on the card. If WWE needs another filler match, then Emma, Santino Marella, Layla El and Fandango are the top candidates for that spot.
April 27, 2014
Triple H
With the X-Men star making a return appearance next week, WWE has been hinting that Hugh Jackman is going to be knocking out one of the wrestlers. The company set up a poll to see which performer the fans wanted to see in the roll. Damien Sandow, JBL, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, Batista, Ryback, Curtis Axel, Zeb Colter, Fandango and Jack Swagger were all included, but Triple H and Paul Heyman are currently in the lead.
April 25, 2014
Paul Heyman
While it has yet to be officially confirmed, you can expect to see Curtis Axel and Ryback challenging Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso for the WWE tag team championship at Extreme Rules 2014. The seeds for the match was placed when the former Paul Heyman duo attacked the Usos after they defeated Cody Rhodes and Goldust on Monday Night Raw last week.
