AJ Styles contract status

It was earlier reported that AJ Styles was under contract with New Japan until the end of the year, which sparked the rumors that he was signing with WWE to join the NXT roster. However, new reports have now surfaced that the former world heavyweight champion is no longer under contract with NJPW. He is simply working on a per date deal with the promotion and can leave when he wants.

That has sparked rumors that the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion is on the verge of signing a contract with WWE to help add depth to the developmental brand. Management is now leaning towards the idea of having seasoned veterans mixed in with the fresher faces.

The only thing holding him back at the time was that he needed to see what the future of Lucha Underground had in store. Now that the promotion is staying in business, Daivari will not be joining Jeff Jarrett in Global Force Wrestling. Daivari has a contract that prevents him from appearing on television for another promotion.

When Kana made a public appearance in the audience at the NXT event in Brooklyn this past weekend, rumors immediately spread that she had signed a contract with WWE. That has yet to be confirmed. There are some that are skeptical of the rumors because earlier in the year, she announced that she was going to take a step away from professional wrestling because she had been doing it for ten straight years.

There are rumors floating around that Shawn Daivari was going to be signing a contract with GFW in the near future. However, if he does, it will have to be a deal that only allows him to work live events. Lucha Underground does not allow their performers to work television for any other wrestling promotion. Of course, that deal would be terminated if the company folds, as some have predicted.
