The first match for Payback has been announced, and it will be a rematch for the United States Heavyweight Championship. John Cena and Rusev will be engaging in the final chapter of their feud, which was designed to make the latter look like a credible top level performer. Fittingly, it will be an I Quit match. Rumors are floating around that WWE will further the tension by having Lana be the one to wave the white flag for client.

Earlier in the month, rumors surfaced that WWE was going to put the Intercontinental Championship on Daniel Bryan so that he could headline the live events with it. In about a week and a half, Chris Jericho and Fozzy will be finishing up their tour of Europe. That is conveniently a weekly before Wrestlemania. Rumors are spreading that Jericho will making an appearance at the pay per view. WWE could throw him into the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal, but the more likely scenario has him higher up on the card and joining the ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship instead.

There are speculations floating around that WWE is doing an about face with the New Day stable and are actually considering a push for the trio. Rumors were started when the official company website published an article where it suggested that management might bring back the Freebird Rule, which would enable Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big E Langston to share the tag team championship. It could just be a tease from the writers.

For quite some time now, rumors have swirling that Charlotte was heading to the main roster in WWE. Now that she has dropped the NXT Women's Championship to Sasha Bank, the flames of those rumors are being fanned even stronger. Management has a history of having developmental wrestlers dropping their titles before being promoted. The 28 year old might stick around for another month to put over the new champion, though.
