One of the reasons why WWE put the world heavyweight championship on Sheamus is because they want the fans to root for whoever he is up against. The Celtic Warrior does a pretty decent job of generating heel heat. Plus, a lot of fans aren't keen to the idea of him being in the top spot. Management has noticed that the reaction to Roman Reigns has been a bit warmer because of it.

When Sheamus cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase at Survivor Series and stole the WWE Heavyweight Championship away from Roman Reigns, fans complained that the Celtic Warrior did not have enough momentum for the role. However, it now appears that management purposely wants to cool off the MITB winner so that it would feel more like a surprise when they do get elevated into the top spot.

On Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns cut an extremely long promo. It got to the point where fans were growing restless and started acting out. To his credit, Reigns played it off and kept going. Reports have surfaced that there are those backstage in WWE that feel that management should not put Reigns in a position like that. They feel that he was being set up to have the audience turn on him even more so than before.

Back when Roman Reigns was initially brought up to the main roster, Vince McMahon and Triple H made sure to instruct the creative department to avoid coming up with anything that would reveal that he was a Samoan. The two felt that his ethnicity would cause fans to stereotype him and not view him as a potential main event performer. WWE has recently softened on that stance lately by revealing that Jimmy Uso is related to Reigns.

Since they like to throw off fans, WWE has been teasing that Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns could be going after the tag team titles after their big victory at Summerslam. However, that seems unlikely to happen, as management is leery about putting Reigns across the ring from an act as popular as New Day has become. There is a fear that the fans will turn on Reigns even more in that scenario.

Even before Roman Reigns added fuel to the fire, there were rumors that WWE officials had internally discussed the possibility of The Rock making an appearance at Summerslam. It would provide the fans with at least another thing to pop for. He does do a lot of business in New York, so the possibility cannot be ruled out.

There are quite a bit of people in the industry that are being critical of WWE and their decision to simply ban the fan that attacked Roman Reigns at a live event over the weekend. Some feel that the move is useless as that would be hard to implement each time they visit Vancouver. Many also feel that they should not have dropped the charges to send a message to other fans thinking about doing the same thing.

The man that attacked Roman Reigns at a live event over the weekend is getting off a whole lot easier than he should. WWE opted to drop the charges against him after he was arrested. The decision was made because he apologized for the incident. The 31 year old man stated that he only did it because other fans in the audience chanted for him to do so. He has been permanently banned from attending future events.

If you were one of the many professional wrestling fans that were hoping to see Sting on the same team as Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, two of the more popular stars in WWE, then you are more than likely out of luck. Management now only wants him to make an appearance during Summerslam weekend. He might not even show up at the pay per view.

One of the ideas being floated around right now is to have Dean Ambrose become injured in the story line. Then, when Roman Reigns is outnumbered by Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper, the fans will be begging for someone to come and help him even the score. That someone would then be Sting, who would provide Reigns with the public endorsement that could benefit him greatly.
