Roman Reigns

WWE adds more security

For a long time there, Vince McMahon was accused of not doing enough to protect his performers in the ring. Whenever an incident with a fan would take place, WWE generally did not go after the individual with their strong legal department. That opened the door for others to jump the rails or throw things into the ring. After the latest incident with Roman Reigns at Night of Champions, management has now decided to add more security to live events.

As a sign that WWE might actually be very serious this time around about the security of their performers, a jail sentence has been handed to the fan that entered the ring illegally on Night of Champions to stand behind Roman Reigns. Sadly, the intruder was a 37 year old grown man and not a teenager. Oscar Ramirez has pleaded guilty to the charges and will be spending ten days in jail.

Triple H

Roman Reigns a Samoan

Back when Roman Reigns was initially brought up to the main roster, Vince McMahon and Triple H made sure to instruct the creative department to avoid coming up with anything that would reveal that he was a Samoan. The two felt that his ethnicity would cause fans to stereotype him and not view him as a potential main event performer. WWE has recently softened on that stance lately by revealing that Jimmy Uso is related to Reigns.

New Day

Shield vs New Day

Since they like to throw off fans, WWE has been teasing that Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns could be going after the tag team titles after their big victory at Summerslam. However, that seems unlikely to happen, as management is leery about putting Reigns across the ring from an act as popular as New Day has become. There is a fear that the fans will turn on Reigns even more in that scenario.

The Rock

Rock at Summerslam

Even before Roman Reigns added fuel to the fire, there were rumors that WWE officials had internally discussed the possibility of The Rock making an appearance at Summerslam. It would provide the fans with at least another thing to pop for. He does do a lot of business in New York, so the possibility cannot be ruled out.

Roman Reigns speaks out

The Miami Herald reached out to Roman Reigns to ask him about the attack by the fan in Vancouver. While he is okay from the incident, he stated that he did not like the fact that he could have easily been injured because someone wanted a brief moment of fame. Reigns reminded people that he was a father and a provider, so it is scary to think that it could be taken away by something so senseless.

WWE bans fan

There are quite a bit of people in the industry that are being critical of WWE and their decision to simply ban the fan that attacked Roman Reigns at a live event over the weekend. Some feel that the move is useless as that would be hard to implement each time they visit Vancouver. Many also feel that they should not have dropped the charges to send a message to other fans thinking about doing the same thing.

Roman Reigns attacker banned

The man that attacked Roman Reigns at a live event over the weekend is getting off a whole lot easier than he should. WWE opted to drop the charges against him after he was arrested. The decision was made because he apologized for the incident. The 31 year old man stated that he only did it because other fans in the audience chanted for him to do so. He has been permanently banned from attending future events.
