Since WWE wanted his debut to be a big deal, Shinsuke Nakamura has now been booked for a big match against Sami Zayn, an experienced performer that had spent years honing his craft in ROH. The two of them will be battling it out at a special NXT event in Dallas during Wrestlemania 32 weekend. Triple H wants to keep the momentum rolling for the developmental brand, so expect Nakamura and Zayn to be given plenty of time to work.

Jay Lethal staying with ROH

Since WWE had been collecting as much talent as possible, rumors of Jay Lethal finally signing with the promotion started to swirl. Well, those can be put to rest for at least another year, as the ROH World Heavyweight Champion has signed a contract extension to stay exactly where he is. The belief is that Lethal would much rather defend the world title around the globe instead of being forced to start over again in NXT, the developmental brand.

While there are rumors circulating that he is scheduled to join WWE and work the Royal Rumble this Sunday, AJ Styles still has other wrestling commitments to fulfill over the weekend. On Saturday night in Duluth, Georgia, the former world heavyweight champion will be making an appearance with ROH to do a farewell to Ring of Honor fans. That should be his final night with the company for quite some time.

In a move that comes as a surprise to very few, Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis finished off their contract with ROH. They will be leaving the company now as a new contract was not able to be reached. Maria was already well known in the industry due to her time in WWE, but Bennett greatly increased his name value, thanks in part to successful stints in New Japan. Reports are saying that they are heading to TNA by January.

Reports have surfaced that WWE is indeed interested in signing Jay Lethal to a contract. The current ROH Heavyweight Champion has publicly stated that he would be more than interested in signing with the company. Lethal knows that he can only go so far by staying with Ring of Honor as they really have no plans on expansion. The former TNA star would be thrown into the NXT mix right away.

Through social media, the Young Bucks revealed to fans that they have signed a new contract. Of course, to make things fun, the brothers did not bother to reveal which promotion that they are signing with. Instead, they listed out Lucha Underground, WWE, ROH, TNA and New Japan. The belief is that the popular tandem has not signed with World Wrestling Entertainment because they have backstage heat there.

Maria had some backstage heat on her for a bit, but that is said to have dissolved tremendously.

They, of course, will be allowed to continue working for New Japan.
