Thanks to the success of Samoa Joe, Kevin Owens and Finn Balor, the road has been paved for independent wrestling veterans to make their way over to WWE. During a recent interview, Christopher Daniels stated that he is interested in following in their footsteps. However, he revealed that he is currently contractually obligated to ROH.

Since there was so much confusion within the internet wrestling community over the situation, ROH decided to release an official statement in regards to Samoa Joe working the television taping on June 20, 2015. Even though he is under contract with WWE, he will honor his contract and work the tag team match with AJ Styles. It is being billed as his final appearance.

Even though he is signed to a contract with WWE now, Samoa Joe is scheduled to make a return to ROH and work a television taping. Of course, that deal has now been complicated because Ring of Honor has now been picked up by Destination America, which means that the promotion can now be seen in every state. Earlier in the week, Samoa Joe was spotted hanging out with other wrestlers at Walemania. It's not all fun and games, however. In a move that many thought would be impossible, it now appears that WWE will be signing Samoa Joe to a contract very soon. Reports have surfaced that the two sides have come to an agreement on terms. The belief is that the deal will not take place before April, as Joe has already committed to working matches for ROH in the month of March. Despite being a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Joe will be going through developmental still.

As some of you may already know, Samoa Joe showed up at the ROH anniversary show that took place in Las Vegas last night. He addressed the audience, which gave him a rather warm reception, and informed them that he will be gunning for the heavyweight championship. Since he is only signed for four shows and Ring of Honor is unlikely to be able to afford to give him a long term contract, Joe is unlikely to be given the championship.

Since ROH has managed to bring in Alberto Del Rio and Samoa Joe, a lot of fans are under the assumption that their financial issues are over. That is not the case whatsoever. The company was able to sign those guys because they are short term contracts. While it does cost a pretty penny to get big name guys under contract, Ring of Honor is willing to take the risk to bring in revenue. It is being said that long term deals were never discussed.
