Since WWE had been collecting as much talent as possible, rumors of Jay Lethal finally signing with the promotion started to swirl. Well, those can be put to rest for at least another year, as the ROH World Heavyweight Champion has signed a contract extension to stay exactly where he is. The belief is that Lethal would much rather defend the world title around the globe instead of being forced to start over again in NXT, the developmental brand.

While there are rumors circulating that he is scheduled to join WWE and work the Royal Rumble this Sunday, AJ Styles still has other wrestling commitments to fulfill over the weekend. On Saturday night in Duluth, Georgia, the former world heavyweight champion will be making an appearance with ROH to do a farewell to Ring of Honor fans. That should be his final night with the company for quite some time.

On the POP TV debut episode of Impact Wrestling this week, rumors about Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis joining the promotion have been confirmed, as the two former ROH star finally made their debut. Bennett informed Total Nonstop Action fans that he was there to pursue the world heavyweight championship.

The network would obviously love to open up their Thursday night wrestling block with the most popular promotion, as it would draw viewers to TNA and ROH. In reality, however, there are rumors that Triple H instructed him to save the big spots for the very big moments instead of doing them routinely.
