TNA stars working elsewhere

In order to help their performers make more money each year, TNA has decided to modify the rule that prevents them from working in other promotions. In the past, special permission was granted for the wrestlers to work on cards promoted by Tommy Dreamer, Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy. Now, they are free to work internet pay per view events for smaller independent companies. ROH is still not an option for the wrestlers, however.

Eddie Edwards gets married

When Angelina Love showed a photo on social media of herself and her boyfriend Davey Richards at a wedding last weekend in Austin, the assumption was that Eddie Edwards was the groom. Angelina only provided the first name of the guy that invited them. It has now been confirmed that the TNA star is indeed the one that got married to his longtime girlfriend. Jay Brisco booking ROH

As a sign of how desperately ROH wanted the Briscoes to stick around instead of leaving for WWE, there are rumors floating around right now that the front office has offered Jay Briscoe the lead booking position, which would enable him to keep he and his brother looking strong for this next portion of their careers. Combine that position of power with a higher salary than what the competition was offering, and you can understand why he stayed.

Briscoes staying in ROH

It looks like the Briscoes are stuck in ROH. The two brothers went to WWE to see if they could get an offer, which they did. Mark Briscoe and Jay Briscoe allowed their current company the opportunity to negotiate. Ring of Honor gave them a higher offer because they desperately needed the two of them to stick around. The two then went back to World Wrestling Entertainment, but the company refused to budge on their original offer.

Shinsuke Nakamura to ROH

It is no secret that Daniel Bryan really wants to wrestle his good friend Shinsuke Nakamura at the next Wrestlemania. Well, his friend is coming to the United States to work, but it will not be for WWE. Nakamura has signed on to work a couple of live events for ROH. He will be doing four shows in Philadelphia and Toronto, along with several other stars from New Japan. The belief is that more overseas stars are headed for the show as well.

Paragon Pro Wrestling

ROH is about to lose their standing as the third top promotion in the United States. A company called Paragon Pro Wrestling is finalizing a deal with Pop TV that will give them national exposure. Ring of Honor, on the other hand, has yet to reach all fifty states, despite being in business for as long as TNA has. Former WWE announcer Matt Striker is rumored to be the producer and director for the promotion. Lisa Marie Varon could be the featured star.

ROH stars in WWE

As good as NXT is, it appears that ROH is a better developmental program for WWE. All but two of their current male champions come from that promotion. Seth Rollins is the world champion. Daniel Bryan holds the Intercontinental Championship. Kevin Owens and Antonio Cesaro both hold titles. The only two guys that never worked for that promotion are Tyson Kidd and John Cena. The two divas champion never worked there.

Tetsuya Naito to ROH

Apparently, ROH wants a lot of international talent for their upcoming series of matches in Philadelphia and Toronto. In addition to Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada, the company has now secured the services of Tetsuya Naito. For those of you that do not remember, the veteran performer worked a couple of matches for TNA, including a handicap match against Kevin Nash on Impact Wrestling. No word yet on who he will be working with.

Bennett and Taven win IWGP titles

During their first reign, the Bullet Club held the IWGP Tag Team Championship for an entire year. Their second reign wasn't nearly as successful. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows were defeated by Matt Taven and Mike Bennett, who were accompanied by the lovely Maria Kanellis at Invasion Attack 2015 over the weekend. The ROH stars are making quite a name for themselves in New Japan and could opt to work more there than in the United States.
