In a very interesting move, ROH has decided to give Matt Jackson a chance at their world heavyweight championship on Saturday night at a live event in Duluth, Georgia. Jackson will be challenge Jay Lethal for the title that night. Matt normally works tag team matches with his brother, but Ring of Honor management wants to see how well he can do as a singles competitor, much like what the NWA did with Ricky Morton and Ric Flair.

Mike Bennett debuts in TNA

Over the past several days, TNA has been teasing a newcomer with the term, "Miracle". On the POP TV debut episode of Impact Wrestling this week, rumors about Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis joining the promotion have been confirmed, as the two former ROH star finally made their debut. Bennett informed Total Nonstop Action fans that he was there to pursue the world heavyweight championship.

AJ Styles injured again

On December 18 and December 19, ROH will be presenting their annual Final Battle pay per view. Management might need to scramble for a new main event match. Initially AJ Styles was scheduled to challenge Jay Lethal for the heavyweight championship. However, Styles is injured once again. No details have emerged, but he might have injured his back again.

WWE apron moves

Those that watched Battleground last night got to see a good amount of apron moves, including a particularly impressive splash by Big E Langston during the tag team championship match. Apparently, WWE has been instructing their performers to do more of that. While more details are not available yet, there is a belief that it has something to do with ROH.

A post on Twitter where Jay Lethal and the Young Bucks are holding championship belts. Nick Jackson and Matt Jackson are holding the IWGP Jr Tag Team Championship, while Lethal is holding the world championship and television championship in ROH. The three of them worked a big pay per view for Ring of Honor this weekend.

A very big moment is happening in ROH. There is going to be an epic match between Jay Lethal and Jay Briscoe on June 19, 2015 in New York City. After a very long buildup to this moment, both the World Heavyweight Championship and World Television Championship will be on the line, with one man walking away as a double champion. Ring of Honor is banking big time on this pay per view being able to draw in new fans.

ROH stars in WWE

As good as NXT is, it appears that ROH is a better developmental program for WWE. All but two of their current male champions come from that promotion. Seth Rollins is the world champion. Daniel Bryan holds the Intercontinental Championship. Kevin Owens and Antonio Cesaro both hold titles. The only two guys that never worked for that promotion are Tyson Kidd and John Cena. The two divas champion never worked there.

Bennett and Taven win IWGP titles

During their first reign, the Bullet Club held the IWGP Tag Team Championship for an entire year. Their second reign wasn't nearly as successful. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows were defeated by Matt Taven and Mike Bennett, who were accompanied by the lovely Maria Kanellis at Invasion Attack 2015 over the weekend. The ROH stars are making quite a name for themselves in New Japan and could opt to work more there than in the United States.

Chris Sabin to ROH

Chris Sabin made his surprise return to ROH recently, and he did it in a big way. In the main event of a television taping, Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels defeated reDRagon for the tag team championship. A masked man got involved in the action, and when the reveal took place, it turned out to be Sabin. The three former TNA stars have formed a new stable called KRD, which stands for Knights of the Rising Dawn.

Jay Briscoe vs Samoa Joe

Earlier in the week, Samoa Joe was spotted hanging out with other wrestlers at Walemania. It's not all fun and games, however. The former world heavyweight champion worked a match for ROH, where he challenged Jay Briscoe for their version of the heavyweight championship. Briscoe successfully retained, but that does not come as a surprise to those who believe that Joe will be signing up with the WWE developmental program soon.
