While he has largely stayed away from things related to professional wrestling, CM Punk did have a little involvement this week. The former world heavyweight champion attended a screening of They Live, the movie which Roddy Piper is famous for starring in. Punk was tasked with giving a speech about the WWE legend. Through social media, he stated that it was an honor to do that for Piper.

During a recent interview, Bret Hart was asked about performers that helped him when he was moving up the ladder in WWE. He listed Roddy Piper as someone that was of tremendous help to him. More interestingly, though, he made it a point to list Jake Roberts as someone that did not bother to help, even when the opportunity presented itself for Roberts to help Hart become a star.

Not being one to keep his opinions to himself, Bret Hart recently revealed his feelings towards Hulk Hogan. Hart stated that he doesn't remember Hogan being a racist when the two of them worked together, but he also feels that Hogan should stay away from WWE permanently. Hart then accuses Hogan of being happy that Roddy Piper died because it took a lot of the attention away from the racial controversy.

The internet wrestling community has sided against Chyna in the reported incident that took place at the funeral of Roddy Piper. Latest details revealed, however, makes it seem less of an incident than initially reported. The former WWE diva didn't actually approach Triple H was inside of the funeral. It took place afterwards, was outside and lasted approximately twenty seconds.

Earlier in the year, Roddy Piper and Honky Tonk Man were engaged in a war of words. Piper called him an asshole who could sing and dance like his character claims to be able to do. Things settled down a bit between the former WWE stars. Now that Piper is dead, Honky reveals that the two of them had planned on meeting at a wrestling convention to figure out what the issues are and bury the hatchet once and for all.

In a very interesting note, Vince McMahon was not at the funeral for Roddy Piper this week. The two of them have had a rocky relationship over the years, as both are alpha males and very outspoken. WWE recently terminated the legends contract that Piper was under before he passed away from a heart attack. Triple H and Michael Hayes represented the company at the funeral.

Prior to his death, Roddy Piper had apparently reached a deal with GFW to start working for the promotion. The plan was for him to do a Piper's Pit segment at one of the television taping to help the company pitch to the various television networks. Unfortunately, though, the agreement could not come to fruition. Piper had been released from his contract with WWE not too long ago.

Reports have surfaced that Roddy Piper has been dropped from his legends contract with WWE, and the speculation going around is that it has something to do with his war of words with Steve Austin. Piper had accused Austin of going to executives of Podcast One and having his show removed from the rotation, which Austin strongly denied.
