Roddy Piper pitched a Wrestlemania idea to WWE, where he would team up with a heel against Hulk Hogan and John Cena. Piper wanted the partner to be CM Punk, but it appears that management is currently against the idea of turning him back to a heel.
Rumors going around right now is that WWE is going to be inducting the main event of the very first Wrestlemania into the hall of fame this year. It would open the doors for the company to have more inductions and feature performers multiple times.
Aside from ruining an on screen segment with Chris Jericho, another issue between Roddy Piper and WWE was the fact that the company wanted to restrict his ability to make appearances on other shows, which Piper refused to agree to since it might hurt his son's MMA career.

Word going around is that WWE has forgiven Roddy Piper and is working with him again because they want to utilize him in a match at Wrestlemania 30. Piper himself pitched the idea of a tag team match, where he and Hulk Hogan would be on opposite sides.
There are talks within WWE of utilizing Roddy Piper in a match at Wrestlemania 30 now that the heat on him has died down. Some of the plans being discussed even has him possibly working with Hulk Hogan, either as a teammate or opponent, as well.
