During the latest episode of his podcast show, Ric Flair revealed that Charlotte used to call him all the time and complained about not being called up to the main roster by WWE. Ric Flair is supposed to be in attendance during the entire weekend, so that would make it quite convenient for the front office to have him appearing on television to introduce his daughter to fans who do not generally keep up with NXT.

When the unpopular firing of Jim Ross took place, many felt that he was being punished by WWE because Ric Flair was drunk at a public event. That has led people to speculate about backstage heat between the two. Apparently, that is far from the case, as Ross and Flair get along just fine. The two of them still share a mutual sense of admiration and respect towards one another. Ross does not blame Flair for no longer being with the company.
