The Associated Press has revealed a rather interesting bit of news regarding the tragic incident involving Rey Mysterio and Perro Aguayo. The state prosecutor has confirmed that they are opening an investigation to see if manslaughter charges are needed. While certain fans may overreact to this bit of information, the prosecutor is simply doing due diligence into a situation where someone has passed away, even though it looked like an accident.

When it was announced that Rey Mysterio was returning to wrestle in Mexico, everyone knew that it was going to be an eventful moment. Just not this type of eventfulness. El Hijo del Perro Aguayo, whose real name is Pedro Aguayo Ramirez, reportedly took a dropkick to the trachea and slumped to the ropes. Konnan unsuccessfully tried to revive him backstage. Local news reports in indicate he died shortly after midnight.

As many of you already know, Rey Mysterio is no longer under contract with WWE. The two sides have officially decided to part ways. Do not expect management to say much publicly about the situation, though. Reports have surfaced that the company is trying as hard as possible to prevent the news from reaching their shareholders and investors. They fear that faith in the company will be lost since they failed to build a replacement.

It is not good news if you're a big fan of the masked performer remaining with the company. Reports have surfaced that Mysterio already has the release paperwork in his hands, but he has not signed it yet because the former world heavyweight champion still has a couple of details that he wants to iron out before walking away from the company.
