Lucha Underground season 3

In what has to be considered quite the turnaround after coming close to shutting things down after the first season, Lucha Underground has announced that a third season has been green lit by the El Rey network. Thanks in large part to the presence of former WWE superstar Rey Mysterio, the promotion has now been able to capture the attention of the mainstream media, as evident by their recent appearance on ESPN to promote the second season.

Mysterio praises Del Rio

Through social media, Rey Mysterio congratulated Alberto Del Rio for returning to WWE and winning the United States Heavyweight Championship from John Cena at Hell in a Cell. Mysterio also mentioned that WWE needed the presence of Del Rio in their company. As many of you already know, World Wrestling Entertainment has been desperately trying to win back their fans in Mexico.

Rumors spread not too long ago that Rey Mysterio was open to the idea of returning to WWE if things were on his terms. That led to his fans asking him about his status on social media. To his credit, Mysterio took the time to explain his thought process to the fans. The former world heavyweight champion explained why he was not returning, which means that World Wrestling Entertainment did not want to give him his terms.

Konnan reviving Aguayo

By now, most people have seen the video of Perro Aguayo dying in the ring during a match involving Rey Mysterio. A select few have started blaming Konnan for repeatedly shaking Aguayo as he laid motionless on the mat. Others, however, have been defending him by stating that the former WCW star was under the impression that Aguayo was simply knocked out. To his credit, he rushed immediately to check on the fallen star.
