While he has already made his official return to WWE, officials are still protecting Rey Mysterio at the moment, as many feel that his legs are not quite at the strength that they should be at yet.
After limping in front of fans and backstage at Monday Night Raw, Rey Mysterio was reportedly fine when he worked the Smackdown taping on Tuesday night.
After making his triumphant return on Monday Night Raw, Rey Mysterio was spotted limping backstage. Some reports are saying that he was walking gingerly even before going on television.
Many within WWE feel that Rey Mysterio is rushing back to the company because his quadricep has not completely healed yet.
"As of tonight Im taking time off from wrestling to take care of a long neglected medical issue. So I assure you all I will not be at the Royal Rumble. Basically I have a pinched Ulner nerve in my elbow that causes lose of sensation, motor function, muscle atrophy & eventually use of my hand. So before things get bad i gotta take quick pause. But after 12 years and no major injuries pro wrestling this I consider very minor"
While he has not been given a feud to work with since making his return to WWE, Rey Mysterio is very much still a part of the plans for Wrestlemania 30. He was penciled in for a big match against Sin Cara, but management is now looking for a new opponent for him at the pay per view.
Aside from half hearted programs with Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio, Alberto Del Rio really has not been given a full program by WWE to work with since wrestling John Cena at Survivor Series 2013. However, the feeling backstage is that Del Rio is assured a spot at Wrestlemania 30 to draw in the Spanish media.
