A little buzz was created this week when Dolph Ziggler defeated Randy Orton in the main event of a WWE live event. A lot of fans believed that this would be the start of a push for the former world heavyweight champion. However, that does not appear to be the case. Ziggler was simply substituting for Roman Reigns, who was on another tour. WWE usually lets the baby face win the final match of the night to send the live audience home happy.
August 11, 2014
WWE has announced that Dolph Ziggler will be challenging the Miz at Summerslam 2014 for the Intercontinental Championship. While his popularity remains pretty strong, this is not a push for Ziggler. Management simply needed a mid card baby face to put over Miz. A title change is not expected to take place, as the company wants to see how far this Hollywood character can go.
August 5, 2014
During a recent interview with CBS Radio in Washington DC, Batista was asked for his opinion on Roman Reigns. The former world heavyweight champion stated that he felt that WWE is pushing Reigns a bit too quickly. Batista feels that the company would have benefited more by giving Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins a longer baby face run since the stable was really over with the audience.
August 5, 2014
Even though the move was done at the last minute, the baby face turn for Jack Swagger has turned out a lot better than WWE had expected. Officials backstage are impressed with the audience reaction to the now patriotic character. A lot of that has to do with the heat that Lana and Alexander Rusev have generated. However, management will more than likely give a push to Swagger to see if the momentum can carry on.
August 1, 2014
There are those backstage in WWE that are skeptical of the idea of doing a heel turn for Kofi Kingston, who has long been regarded as the ultimate baby face. Since he does a lot of the charity work for the company, some are afraid that it will affect that aspect of his job as well. There are rumors floating around that WWE does not have finalized plans for the new stable that also consists of Xavier Woods and Big E Langston.
July 26, 2014
While rumors of a Nation of Domination stable are still floating around, there are also talks that WWE could simply be building up Kofi Kingston and Big E Langston as a tag team because they need a baby face fodder for Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. Management is seriously considering putting the tag titles on the Wyatt Family, and they're going to need more than Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso as challengers.
July 14, 2014
Earlier in the year, WWE had plans on doing a heel turn for Sheamus, in order to bring a little more life back into his stale character. The company even attempted the move on television, but it was botched and the majority of fans did not realize that it had taken place. Rumors going around now is that WWE has completely scrapped the idea. Sheamus will continue to work as a baby face US champion until they can decide on something for him to do.
July 6, 2014
In a rather interesting move, Curtis Axel worked as a baby face during a live event in Pennsylvania over the weekend. It was during a match against Alexander Rusev, where Axel explained to the audience that while they may not like him, they have something in common because they all love America. Rumors have it that this was simply a one time thing because they needed someone to work against Rusev that evening. Axel is not expected to do a full face turn anytime soon.
June 16, 2014
Following a botched heel turn, it looks like WWE might be attempting the move again with Sheamus. The United States Heavyweight Champion is rumored to be moving into a feud with the returning Miz after his Payback 2014 match against Antonio Cesaro. Since Miz is still a baby face, there is a very good chance that WWE will try to do the heel turn with Sheamus again.
May 30, 2014
Now that Summer Rae has completed the filming of Marine 4 with the Miz, she will be returning to Monday Night Raw and Smackdown very soon. There is rumored to be a strong push backstage in WWE to elevate John Cena back into the top spot in the company, as some members of management are not completely sold on Daniel Bryan and his seemingly declining popularity. Bryan would not be dropping far, however, as WWE still feels that he can be a solid person to have at the number two baby face position.

"It's hard if you're quantifying raw numbers to say anyone was more popular at their zenith than Stone Cold Steve Austin. No one sold more merchandise, tickets or pay per view than Steve. The thing with Junkyard Dog was that he was the first African American number one baby face in a major territory. For black fans especially, he was such a groundbreaking force. There was a unique emotional relationship that JYD had with his audience. He gave a whole race their guy." - Jim Ross describes Junkyard Dog and his place in wrestling history

We just started targeting different people, I suppose. By that association, the fans just started to get with us. It's been fun. It's been a side to take for sure, but I think it's something that we're all pretty excited about." - Seth Rollins talks about the Shield doing a baby face turn in WWE
April 26, 2014
Since she is pregnant and will have a hard time traveling once the baby is born, Mickie James is loading up on appearances right now. Since that happened, there is now a chance that WWE could pursue legal actions against the promotion.
August 18, 2014
While the company was hoping that the legendary masked performer would make an appearance at TripleMania on Sunday, AAA is reportedly backing away from Rey Mysterio. The promotion does not want to be involved in a contract tampering lawsuit with WWE. As of right now, there is a bit of a dispute between Mysterio and Vince McMahon on their deal. Until that is cleared, AAA will not be contacting Mysterio.
August 16, 2014
Alberto Del Rio might not be the only familiar WWE face to make an appearance at TripleMania this upcoming Sunday night. August 14, 2014
A couple of months ago, Rey Mysterio was under the belief that his tenure with WWE was over when his contract expired. July 24, 2014
With Rey Mysterio possibly done with the company and Sin Cara being phased out, WWE has turned to Antonio Cesaro to do promotional work in Mexico this week. Mysterio, however, has second thoughts about coming back to WWE.
July 5, 2014
Last month, it was revealed that Rey Mysterio had his contract extended another year by WWE because he had missed so much time over the last twelve months. It was a move done by Vince McMahon to keep one of his top merchandise guys around. Questions about the status of Rey Mysterio have been floating around for the last several weeks, especially since the masked performer has been taken off of the road and off of television. Some have been wondering if he and WWE would agree on a new contract. Apparently, that is no longer needed, as the company has decided to extend his deal due to Mysterio missing so much time last year.
May 29, 2014
While neither side has confirmed anything, rumors are that WWE and Rey Mysterio have been in contract negotiations to see if the masked wrestler can continue his career with the company for a couple of more years. May 8, 2014
Now that his week long triple to Hawaii with his family is over, Rey Mysterio is looking to get back to work.
