The Highlight Reel
A lot of people didn't like this segment because it felt like WWE basically just duplicated what was done on Monday Night Raw. Personally, I don't have a problem with it since it does further the storyline between these three. |

MVP vs Tommy Dreamer
Decent match.
Nice move mirroring last week's segment by having Matt Hardy coming down to do commentary during MVP's match. In case you missed it last week, MVP was doing commentary during Matt Hardy's match.
Matt Hardy's commentary wasn't nearly as entertaining as MVP's commentary, but then again, you shouldn't really be all that surprised about it since the two guys are on different levels when it comes to mic skills.

Hornswoggle vs Matt Striker
This is a clear example of the WWE writers not having enough time to get all of their work done.
Since Wrestlemania 24, Hornswoggle and Finlay have been just floundering around and doing nothing of particular importance. Matt Striker will be getting more time in the ring because Big Daddy V has been sent home.
The fact that there was no storyline involved in this match really hurt the overall ratings for it. Plus, the finish was quite predictable.

Chavo Guerrero vs Jamie Noble
Match was decent, but the overall rating was hurt by a couple of things.
First of all, the only purpose of this match was to basically showcase that Chavo Guerrero has a new bodyguard now. Secondly, when you consider how great of a match these two guys could have if they weren't so held back by the slowed down WWE style, it's a bit disappointing.

Big Show vs Mark Henry
The match itself wasn't anything spectacular, but then again, you shouldn't have expected it to be. It was the after match battle that made this segment entertaining. After that awesome knockout punch from last week, Great Khali had to get revenge this week.
Winner: Big Show |

Cherry vs Victoria
This match was basically done to set up a feud between the babyface divas on Smackdown against the heel divas. The booking for this feud has been quite slow and lazy, and it definitely affected this match.

Vladimir Kozlov vs Leroy Kincaid
As the weeks go by, it gets worse and worse for Vladimir Kozlov. If they expect fans to give a damn about the guy, then they're going to need to do something besides having him beat random jobbers.

Undertaker vs Batista
This was a good idea in that it gives fans a legitimate main event for Smackdown. Obviously, neither one of these guys were going to take a clean loss, so the double countout ending makes a lot of sense.
It was also a good idea to have Edge and his cronies doing an attack at the end. It makes their stable seem a bit more cohesive.
The only thing that would have made this segment better would be to have Kane do a run-in to save the Undertaker. That furthers his feud as well.
Winner: Double Countout |
