Ric Flair on the Cutting Edge
As expected, this was an excellent segment. It was a great way to start off the show.
Apparently, they're going to have Ric Flair returning to Smackdown next week to face Edge, Curt Hawkins, and Zack Ryder in a 3-on-1 handicap cage match.
Edge is doing a tremendous job as playing the role of the guy manipulating the general manager to get what he wants. Vickie Guerrero deserves credit too for playing the naive role to near perfection. | 9/10 |
 |
CM Punk, Jesse & Festus beat John
Morrison, the Miz and Chavo Guerrero
Basically, the writers combined two feuds into one. Having Festus pinning the Miz is supposed to make fans believe that a tag team title change is coming up soon.
Decent match, but it could have been so much more.

WWE United States Heavyweight Championship Match
MVP beat Batista
For a couple of weeks there, MVP was getting destroyed by Batista. It was weird at the time, but now we know that the writers were doing so to set up this match.
Decent match here between the two as they've developed some chemistry together.
MVP gets the cheap win when Batista gets counted out. Nice move as that makes MVP seem like a heel champion who is close to losing his belt. | 7/10 |

Divas Swimsuit Competition
WWE is going to be doing a weekly elimination competition with this thing. Winner gets a custom made motorcycle.
Eve Torres, Cherry, Maryse, Victoria, and Michelle McCool are the competitors.
Kudos to the WWE writing staff for making Cherry's character seem a bit shy about revealing herself. It absolutely plays into her character.
It's supposed to be a fan voting, but we have a feeling that Michelle McCool is going to end up as the winner. The motorcycle part fo the competition kind of gives it away. | 7/10 |
 |
Kane beat Chuck Palumbo
The match was a quick squash match that lasted approximately 3 minutes.
We're quite disappointed with this because it should have been the start of a new feud between the two. Doing a squash match like this basically ruins any momentum that it would have had.
To think, they spent an entire segment on ECW to promote this match. Then, they leave us with an empty feeling by destroying Chuck Palumbo. | 2/10 |
 |
Big Show beat Jamie Noble
The match itself was quick. There was really nothing to it.
However, the segment itself was entertaining.
Big Show basically beat up on Jamie Noble for a minute or so. Sensing defeat, Jamie Noble cleverly disqualifies himself with a low blow.
The segment succeeded in promoting the Big Show as a dominant force. Jamie Noble once again shows off his underrated skill of getting over in a segment while being on the losing end. | 7/10 |

Edge, Curt Hawkins, and Zack Ryder beat the Undertaker
The point of this entire segment was basically to make it appear as if Edge will need help in order to beat the Undertaker.
Remember, fans pay good money to see the heel champion lose his belt to the popular babyface. It's a formula that made Ric Flair one of the top draws during the 1980s.
The match itself wasn't too shabby, but we'd like a little more creativity in these types of segments, though. | 6/10 |
| Final Analysis |
Good show overall, but it could have been so much better.
All they had to do was make the segment between Kane and Chuck Palumbo a bit more interesting.
They also should have done something better with CM Punk. The match felt too much like just a space filler segment. | 6/10 |
