A Bit Predictable
Smackdown was a bit predictable this week. It's not just because the episode was taped two weeks ago either.
The predictability of this week's episode had more to do with the writing than anything else.
For instance, we saw Finlay beating the Great Khali again. The Undertaker got yet another win over Big Daddy V. For all of the losing they've done as of late, the Great Khali and Big Daddy V sure seem like gentle giants. That's not a good way to promote an Elimination Chamber match.
It would have been better for the writers to mix and match things up even more between the contestants of the Elimination Chamber match. They could have had Finlay facing the Undertaker. MVP can face the Great Khali. Batista can go up against Big Daddy V. Those matchups would be a lot fresher.
Edge proposing to Vickie Guerrero was predictable as well. It does get an excuse, though, since it was a natural progression for the storyline. It was eventually going to happen. Plus, Edge puts on a good performance, so it makes this storyline a lot easier to tolerate.
The tag team match was predictable as well, but we can forgive the writers for that since it does give the tag teams something to do. The division severely needs more attention from the writers. |
