WWE No Way Out 2008 Results

No Way Out this year will always be remembered for a gutsy performance by Rey Mysterio, the return of the Big Show, and a solid Raw Elimination Chamber match.

Surprise, Surprise

WWE managed to pull out a few surprises for the No Way Out pay per view.

The Big Show surprised the audience with a return at the event. He also surprised the fans by acting like a babyface before revealing himself to be a heel.

Another surprise was the involvement of pro boxer Floyd Mayweather. He jumped into the ring and became physically involved with the Big Show. Floyd Mayweather actually nailed some pretty stiff punches to the Big Show, who suffered a legitimate broken nose from the segment.

Rey Mysterio also provided quite a surprise by actually working the event. Many had believed that he would miss the show because of an injury that he suffered down in South America. The injury was serious enough to where Rey Mysterio wasn't able to work more than 5 minutes in the match. Still, it was a nice surprise to see him fighting through the injury in order to work the match.

Predictability

If not for those surprises, No Way Out would have been pretty predictable as a whole.

Triple H and the Undertaker won their respective Elimination Chamber matches as expected. Ric Flair got the win and moves on to Wrestlemania as expected. Edge kept the World Heavyweight Championship as expected.

Randy Orton and Chavo Guerrero keeping their respective belts wasn't nearly as predictable, but it wasn't totally out of the realm of believability. Many had predicted that the only way they would keep their belts would be so that the writers can have them losing the belts at Wrestlemania.

ECW Heavyweight Championship
Chavo Guerrero beat CM Punk

Solid match between the two, but it's nothing that we haven't seen on ECW on Sci Fi. CM Punk received a lot of heat from the audience for doing the 3 Amigos move. Kind of weird that Chavo Guerrero would get the clean win. This feud will probably continue into Wrestlemania.

Smackdown Elmination Chamber
Undertaker beat Finlay, Batista, Great Khali, Big Daddy V & MVP

The match was kind of disappointing in the beginning there, but things really caught on whenever it was just Batista and the Undertaker in there. Even though everyone knew the Undertaker was winning, it was still a solid finish to an overall average match.

Retirement Match
Ric Flair beat Mr Kennedy

Ric Flair's feud with MVP was nearly a classic on the mic but very average in the ring. Same thing happened with his feud against Mr Kennedy. Great on the mic, but the big blowoff math was average at best. Ric Flair is going to need a much better wrestler to work with at Wrestlemania.

Edge beat Rey Mysterio

Very short match between the two, but that was expected considering Rey Mysterio is injured. It's not as bad as everyone thought that it would be. However, Rey Mysterio should still receive praise for working through the pain. After the match, the Big Show attacked Rey Mysterio.

John Cena beat Randy Orton

Solid match between the two. Regardless of how you feel about these two guys, they do have chemistry with one another. Some fans were disappointed with the DQ ending. Other fans were disappointed that the DQ ending means that John Cena will be in the Wrestlemania main event.

Raw Elimination Chamber
Triple H beat Jeff Hardy, Umaga, JBL, Chris Jericho & Shawn Michaels

Unlike the Smackdown match, this one delivered. A lot of people aren't too happy about the final result, but it was expected. Plus, it doesn't take away from how well the match was worked. Jeff Hardy and Triple H were the perfect choice for the final two guys.
