WWE No Way Out 2008 Results
No Way Out this year will always be remembered for a gutsy performance by Rey Mysterio, the return of the Big Show, and a solid Raw Elimination Chamber match.
Surprise, Surprise
WWE managed to pull out a few surprises for the No Way Out pay per view.
The Big Show surprised the audience with a return at the event. He also surprised the fans by acting like a babyface before revealing himself to be a heel.
Another surprise was the involvement of pro boxer Floyd Mayweather. He jumped into the ring and became physically involved with the Big Show. Floyd Mayweather actually nailed some pretty stiff punches to the Big Show, who suffered a legitimate broken nose from the segment.
Rey Mysterio also provided quite a surprise by actually working the event. Many had believed that he would miss the show because of an injury that he suffered down in South America. The injury was serious enough to where Rey Mysterio wasn't able to work more than 5 minutes in the match. Still, it was a nice surprise to see him fighting through the injury in order to work the match.
Predictability
If not for those surprises, No Way Out would have been pretty predictable as a whole.
Triple H and the Undertaker won their respective Elimination Chamber matches as expected. Ric Flair got the win and moves on to Wrestlemania as expected. Edge kept the World Heavyweight Championship as expected.
Randy Orton and Chavo Guerrero keeping their respective belts wasn't nearly as predictable, but it wasn't totally out of the realm of believability. Many had predicted that the only way they would keep their belts would be so that the writers can have them losing the belts at Wrestlemania. |
