Deuces Wild Tournament
Sting & James Storm vs Team 3D
Pretty good match, but nothing to get overly excited about. This match was basically a setup to continue the feud between Sting and James Storm.
While Sting was in the ring, James Storm was outside getting drunk. He inexplicably climbs up to the top turnbuckle. Sting had enough, so he threw James Storm through a table, which enabled Team 3D to pick up the easy win.

Deuces Wild Tournament
Christian Cage & Rhino vs Booker T & Robert Roode
Another good (but not great) match. As expected, there was friction between Robert Roode and Booker T. Christian Cage & Rhino get the expected win.
Afterwards, Booker T congratulates Christian Cage & Rhino. He leaves the ring, but comes back in with a steel chair and takes out Christian Cage & Rhino. The heel turn was a nice touch that actually increased the overall rating of this segment.
Winners: Christian Cage & Rhino |

LAX vs Kip James & Matt Morgan
Quick match here. It was basically just to set up a feud between Kip James and Matt Morgan. LAX was able to pick up the win after Matt Morgan takes out Kip James with a big boot.

Deuces Wild Tournament
AJ Styles & Super Eric vs BG James & Awesome Kong
Decent match. The purpose of this thing was to finally see Awesome Kong in a match against the male wrestlers. They did a superb job of booking the match to where she didn't look too weak or too strong (BG James takes the loss).
Awesome visual seeing Super Eric doing a suicide dive on Awesome Kong. AJ Styles might have injured himself a little bit when he slipped on a dive as well.

Terror Dome Match
Kaz vs Sonjay Dutt vs Jay Lethal vs Alex Shelley vs Chris Sabin vs Johnny Devine vs Curry Man vs Shark Boy vs Consequences Creed vs Jimmy Rave
Prior to this match, Jim Cornette announced that the winner of this match not only gets a shot at the X division title, but they'll also replace Kurt Angle in the main event world title match.
That really helped to elevate the importance of this match.
If you were expecting ring psychology in this match, then you obviously have no idea about how wrestling works. This Terror Dome cage match was designed for multiple wrestlers to do multiple spots. Several exciting moments to fill up the 10 minutes.
Kaz gets the win and the title shots by climbing out of the top of the dome.

Deuces Wild Tournament
Team 3D vs Christian Cage & Rhino
Christian Cage & Rhino are both still reeling from the chair shots from Booker T. That's a nice way to protect these guys from looking too weak.
The writers remembered that Johnny Devine was still an associate of Team 3D, so he came down to the ring to give Brother Devon a cane. He used that to take out Rhino.

Deuces Wild Tournament
LAX vs AJ Styles & Super Eric
Pretty good match. Some interesting spots (including Hernandez holding Super Eric up in a suplex for quite a while). Hector Guerrero's interference was just enough to give LAX the win and a spot in the finals.

Makeover Match
Gail Kim vs Roxxi Laveaux vs Angelina Love vs Velvet Sky vs Rhaka Khan vs Traci Brooks vs Salinas vs ODB vs Jacqueline vs Christy Hemme
Match starts off in a battle royale. There's some nice spots during this protion of the match.
The remaining two Knockouts are Gail Kim and Roxxi Laveaux. Since Gail Kim has the immunity clause, that means that Angelina Love (who was the last person eliminated) gets her head shaved in case Roxxi Laveaux wins. That meant that Angelina Love and Velvet Sky would do whatever it takes to make sure that Gail Kim wins the match.
As Roxxi Laveaux was climbing the ladder, the Beautiful People provide interference and knocks her off. That enables Gail Kim to easily climb the ladder and win the match.
After an inexplicably long brawl between the remaining ladies, Roxxi Laveaux gets her head shaved.
The match itself was good, the events afterwards bumped the ratings because of the emotions that it drew from the audience.
Winner: Gail Kim |

Deuces Wild Tournament
LAX vs Team 3D
Very fun match. Hector Guerrero was heavily involved as his team needed someone to counter Johnny Devine's interference. The end saw Hernandez giving Brother Devon the Border Toss followed by a frog splash (clever) from Homicide.
The ratings for this match was a bit enhanced because the right team went over. It's about time LAX got some shine again.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Samoa Joe vs Kaz vs Scott Steiner
Nice move adding Kaz to this match. It gives them another good in-ring worker to keep the match strong. Plus, it gives Kaz a ton of exposure and credibility.
Scott Steiner surprised a lot of people with his performance here. He's definitely capable of being in the main event. Kaz was his usual impressive self in the ring.
Despite interference from Petey Williams and the use of a steel pipe, Samoa Joe was able to retain his title. He pinned Scott Steiner after a Muscle Buster.
Winner: Samoa Joe |

The tag team tournament could have booked a little bit better. The matches were a bit short and rushed, but that was expected.
The Terror Dome match was entertaining. Hopefully, with more experience, the X division guys can do even better next time.
The Knockouts match lived up to the hype. Plus, Roxxi Laveaux just created herself a huge buzz now that she's bald.
The main event obviously was a little disappointing because Kurt Angle wasn't in there, but all three guys worked extremely hard to produce a good match.
Good show, but it could have been great. |
