John Cena vs JBL
Decent match, but it wasn't really anything that would blow you away. The audience didn't seem to like it either because it was as quiet in the arena as it is in a library. This was a horrible choice to start the pay per view with.
Most people figured that this match would be a lot of brawling, but they actually threw in quite a bit of wrestling in there.
In the end, though, the match didn't do much for either guy's momentum.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match
John Morrison & the Miz vs CM Punk & Kane
Awesome match. Smart move letting CM Punk and John Morrison do most of the work in the match; these guys have worked together so often that their chemistry is now pretty good.
CM Punk showed just how good he can really be in this match, bringing out an arsenal of submission moves.
John Morrison picks up the win for his team after nailing CM Punk with his corkscrew neckbrecker.

Chris Jericho vs Shawn Michaels
Excellent match and a match of the year candidate. It was easily the best match of the night. Great ring psychology and storytelling, but you can usually expect that when you have veterans like these two in there together.
Shawn Michaels countered Chris Jericho's attempt at the Walls of Jericho into a rollup for the pin.
After the match, Chris Jericho extends his hand out to Shawn Michaels, and after a little bit of a staredown, it gets accepted.

WWE Women's Championship
Beth Phoenix vs Mickie James vs Melina Perez
Pretty solid match, but that doesn't come as a surprise since these are three of the divas that can actually work a match. A small part of me was expecting to see the heels swerve Mickie James and take her title, but good thing that didn't happen.
Mickie James pins Melina Perez after a DDT, which allows Beth Phoenix to remain strong and remain the top challenger.

World Heavyweight Championship Match
Undertaker vs Edge
Pretty good match, but it wasn't as special this time around because they've been facing one another for a little bit longer than they should have. Management should have added someone else or something else (a gimmick match) to the feud by now if they wanted it to stay interesting.
Plus, the ending where Vickie Guerrero announces that the title is still vacant was a huge letdown. It made it far too obvious that this match was simply a setup for One Night Stand.

MVP vs Jeff Hardy
They spend a couple of minutes to build up this match. MVP comes out and complains that he's not on the pay per view, which is what he should have been doing in real life. The guy is too talented to leave out. Matt Hardy comes out and says that he has someone that can beat MVP, which turns out to be Jeff Hardy.
The match itself was pretty good. MVP did a tremendous job in the match, doing much of the work until Jeff Hardy was ready to finish things off.
Kind of sad that they accomplished more in a few minutes here than they have with MVP and Matt Hardy since their match at Backlash. Give these two guys a storyline or a feud to work with. It's a shame how they're being wasted.

WWE Heavyweight Championship Match
Triple H vs Randy Orton
This match would have been fine as the main event of Monday Night Raw. However, this was the main event spot for a pay per view. It needed to be a lot better.
In fact, ask Triple H, and I'm sure he'll tell you that he wasn't satisfied with the match. He's usually one of his own biggest critics, and I'm sure he wasn't at all satisfied with the performance.
One of the problems with the match was that it lacked creativity. When you're inside of the cage, you need to pull of an innovative spot or a high impact spot. We didn't really get that.
Show would have been a lot better with Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels in the main event.

This was a good show, but you wouldn't have been disappointed if you had missed it. The match between Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels would basically be the only reason to buy this DVD. |
