In the main event of Payback, Seth Rollins successfully retained the world heavyweight championship by defeating Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Randy Orton in a fatal four way match. Plenty of interference from Kane, Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble throughout the match. A small reunion between the Shield got the audience really hyped up. In the end, Rollins used the Pedigree finishing move to finish off Orton.

Fans attending WWE live events this upcoming weekend might be in for a bit of disappointment if they were looking forward to see John Cena and Randy Orton. The two of them have been pulled from the road. Management is going to try to supplement the show by having Seth Rollins defending the heavyweight championship against Roman Reigns on one tour. The other will be headlined by Rusev, Dean Ambrose and Ryback.

On the surface, Seth Rollins defeated Randy Orton at Extreme Rules to retain the WWE Heavyweight Championship. Things might not be that way tomorrow on Monday Night Raw because the creative department made sure to make the ending as convoluted as possible. Orton hit the RKO, but it was on Kane instead of Rollins, who also hit the RKO as well. That leaves open the possibility for another rematch between the two performers.

While WWE has done a solid job of trying to make us believe that Randy Orton has a chance of walking away with the world heavyweight championship at Extreme Rules, the current plan consists of Seth Rollins retaining the belt. He more than likely will be cheating to get that done. Since the front office doesn't want to do a straight up rematch, the belief is that Roman Reigns will be thrown into the mix at Payback in a triple threat match.

In a rather interesting bit of news, a lot of fans in attendance at Monday Night Raw were said to have left before the main event even started. That is peculiar because WWE was trying to determine a number one contender for their world heavyweight championship. Apparently, a lot of these fans were already able to predict that Randy Orton was going to be the one to challenge Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules, so they walked out.

In a very logical move, WWE has decided to do a Wrestlemania rematch between Randy Orton and Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules. This time, however, the world heavyweight championship will be on the line. Management set this up at the previous pay per view by having Orton defeating Rollins before the latter went to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase on Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar in the main event.

While they have managed to confuse some within the internet wrestling community, WWE still has every intention of doing a complete face turn for Randy Orton in the coming weeks. They have been testing out the audience at live events by having the former world heavyweight champion working against Bray Wyatt, a heel that does not have an opponent to practice with since he is currently involved in a Wrestlemania feud with the Undertaker.

Fans have been waiting for the Randy Orton return for the last couple of shows now, and he has yet to make an appearance. The belief is that WWE is holding it off because they simply have yet to find a place for him on Fast Lane. If they are unable to get an opponent for the former world heavyweight champion, then his return might be delayed until after the pay per view. Management does not want him brought back without a story line.

When it comes to Wrestlemania, things are usually written in pencil, even up until the start of the pay per view. One thing that is fairly certain is that Randy Orton will be given a spot on the card, barring a serious injury or suspension. The problem for WWE is finding him someone to work with. One idea being tossed around backstage is to have the former world heavyweight champion working a high profile singles match against Seth Rollins.
