Randy Orton

Randy Orton return date

While there has been no confirmed return date just yet, the belief is that WWE is hoping that Randy Orton can be healthy in time for the Royal Rumble. A surprise return at a pay per view like that could do wonders for his momentum. Orton, of course, is going to be placed in a high profile match at Wrestlemania, so the front office would love to have him around for a couple of months before then.

Randy Orton hurts shoulder

By now, most everyone knows that Randy Orton injured his shoulder and will be forced to take some time away from WWE in order to heal his body. Reports have now surfaced that the former world heavyweight champion was not injured during a match. Orton is said to have hurt himself while taking out the trash at home. He's been having problems with his shoulder for quite some time now.

Sheamus vs Orton at Summerslam

One of the lesser discussed Summerslam spoilers involves the halfheartedly put together match between Randy Orton and Sheamus. WWE will more than likely go with the predictable route int his one. Orton is a guy that they like giving victories to, especially on pay per view. WWE could always protect the Celtic Warrior by having him cheat the audience by walking away from the match.

Sheamus cleared to wrestle

WWE received some very good news last night when Sheamus showed up at the arena. The medical staff was able to clear him of a concussion. He had been having symptoms since the last episode of Monday Night Raw. That enabled the creative department to include him in the final segment with Randy Orton and Seth Rollins, which possibly sets up a world heavyweight championship match between the three at Summerslam.

Summerslam backup match

There is a very good chance that John Cena might not heal quick enough to work Summerslam, so WWE has a couple of backup plans in place. The first one is simply to have Randy Orton challenging for the world heavyweight championship. If the front office does not feel that the match would be much of a draw, then there is a chance that they might add Sheamus and make it a triple threat.

Sheamus at Battleground

In order to keep the Money in the Bank winner relevant, WWE has decided to throw Sheamus into a hastily built match against Randy Orton at Battleground. Since neither man would be buried by a loss, the outcome is a lot harder to predict than normal. The belief is that the Celtic Warrior will either cheat to win, or he will walk out of the match.

Randy Orton at Battleground

In case you're wondering where Randy Orton has been, the former world heavyweight champion is currently on vacation with his girlfriend. The couple are out somewhere in Bora Bora. WWE, however, still has plans for him at Battleground since it is in his hometown of St Louis. A last minute match against Sheamus is reportedly being discussed.

Payback 2015 main event

In the main event of Payback, Seth Rollins successfully retained the world heavyweight championship by defeating Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Randy Orton in a fatal four way match. Plenty of interference from Kane, Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble throughout the match. A small reunion between the Shield got the audience really hyped up. In the end, Rollins used the Pedigree finishing move to finish off Orton.

Rollins vs Orton

On the surface, Seth Rollins defeated Randy Orton at Extreme Rules to retain the WWE Heavyweight Championship. Things might not be that way tomorrow on Monday Night Raw because the creative department made sure to make the ending as convoluted as possible. Orton hit the RKO, but it was on Kane instead of Rollins, who also hit the RKO as well. That leaves open the possibility for another rematch between the two performers.

Roman Reigns vs Kane

Due mainly to the negative response from fans, WWE has been forced to keep Roman Reigns away from the top spot. That is the reason why he is stuck in a feud with the Big Show at the moment. At one point in time, management had plans for Reigns to work a stall program with Kane. That feud is most likely to happen if they change their minds about having Reigns work a triple threat title match with Seth Rollins and Randy Orton at Payback.
