When WWE was scripting the finish to the big six man tag team match between the Shield and Evolution at Extreme Rules 2014, they wanted to give fans something to remember. They also wanted things to make sense. In order to clear the ring for Roman Reigns and Batista, someone came up with the idea for the remaining four guys to fight in the stands. In order to explain why they never went back to the ring, WWE had Seth Rollins hurling into Triple H, Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose from the balcony in the stands.

Randy Orton
Rumors are heating up quite a bit about the story line between Evolution and Shield tonight at Extreme Rules 2014. With Ric Flair having a standing offer to return and with Batista agreeing to stay with WWE for another month, the belief is that Flair will turn on Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns at the pay per view. His reunion with Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton would be a centerpiece story on Monday Night Raw.

While reports surfaced earlier this week that Ric Flair was not scheduled to work Extreme Rules 2014, there are now rumors going around that WWE could secretly be flying the former world heavyweight champion in for the pay per view. Some are speculating that he could turn on Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to rejoin Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista in Evolution.
May 3, 2014
Randy Orton
Even though Daniel Bryan and John Cena are both expected to work their respective matches at the pay per view, Extreme Rules 2014 will be built around a huge six man tag team match featuring Batista, Triple H, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. WWE might even have Evolution and Shield closing out the show as well.
April 17, 2014
Randy Orton
After beating Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista at Wrestlemania 30 for the heavyweight championship, a lot of fans wondered who WWE will choose to work with Bryan in his first month as champion. As of right now, it looks like management is leaning heavily towards Kane to be his first major opponent. The two are expected to work Extreme Rules 2014 together.

As seen on Monday Night Raw this week, WWE is teasing the fans with a potential feud between the Shield and Evolution. There are talks that Batista, Randy Orton, Triple H, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins could be utilized in a big main event match at Extreme Rules 2014. WWE still has to decide on what to do with Daniel Bryan at the pay per view, though.

In the most anticipated match at Extreme Rules 2014, the Shield defeated Evolution. Roman Reigns picked up the pin fall victory over Batista after a Superman punch and a spear. Randy Orton
As of right now, there are still over 1000 tickets available for Extreme Rules 2014, including several expensive seats on the floor. WWE is hoping that the big time six man tag team match featuring Randy Orton, Batista, Triple H, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns will help sell the remaining tickets, as the hype behind Kane and Daniel Bryan is not as strong as normal.

April 23, 2014
Daniel Bryan
Shortly after he announced on Monday Night Raw that he was taking time off to have surgery, rumors sprung up that Daniel Bryan did a lot of damage to his neck by doing the flying headbutt off of the forklift on Kane at Extreme Rules 2014. Some within WWE are denying that by saying that the neck was damaged by years of working a stiff style on the independent wrestling circuit.
May 14, 2014
Cody Rhodes
Another match being penciled in for Extreme Rules 2014 is Cody Rhodes vs Goldust. WWE has been planting the seeds of dissension between the real life brothers, and you can expect the story line to heat up over the next couple of weeks, leading to a pay per view match. Depending on how well the fans react to the feud, Goldust could be leaving WWE shortly afterwards.
May 11, 2014
Bray Wyatt
As many people saw on Monday Night Raw, the feud between John Cena and Bray Wyatt is set to continue, despite the two of them working matches at Wrestlemania 30 and Extreme Rules 2014. WWE is setting up a rematch at Payback 2014, which should more than likely be a gimmick match. There are also rumors that Cena and Wyatt will be battling one another after that pay per view as well.
May 6, 2014
Daniel Bryan
Since Kane was booked so strong in defeat at Extreme Rules 2014, rumors immediately spread that the veteran was going to be receiving a rematch against Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at Payback 2014. Those rumors may be proven to be true really quick, as management is said to be leaning towards doing a Buried Alive match between the two.
May 5, 2014
Alexander Rusev
A rather unusual chant was heard during the handicap match involving Alexander Rusev, Xavier Woods and R Truth during Extreme Rules 2014 last night. It has now been revealed that Sheamus appeared to have fallen asleep during the segment and a couple of members of the live audience caught him, so they started the chant to playfully mock the former world champion.
May 5, 2014
Big E Langston
Over the last couple of weeks, Wade Barrett has picked up support from the audience thanks to his catchphrase. He also had a big fan backstage in Vince McMahon. Going into Extreme Rules 2014, the belief within WWE was that Barrett was all but guaranteed to win the IC title, especially since Big E Langston had very little to no momentum.
May 5, 2014
Bray Wyatt
During the steel cage match at Extreme Rules 2014, John Cena came close to victory, but he was stopped from leaving the structure by a kid who sang in a distorted voice. Rumors going around right now is that he is the actual son of Bray Wyatt. There are talks that the kid could be utilized again on Monday Night Raw to further the story line between Wyatt and Cena.
May 5, 2014
AJ Lee
While management has expressed some concerns backstage about the lackluster reactions that she has been receiving from the live audiences, WWE had no intentions of swapping the Divas Championship from Paige to Tamina Snuka at Extreme Rules 2014. Rumors have it that management is simply waiting for AJ Lee to return, so that she can work with Paige in a rematch feud.
May 5, 2014
Daniel Bryan
At the end of the Extreme Rules 2014 main event, WWE fans witnessed Kane being put through a burning table, which he actually set up himself, by Daniel Bryan. Aside from giving Bryan a highlight, WWE also went with this route, in order to keep Kane strong in defeat. There are talks that a rematch could take place at Payback 2014.
May 5, 2014
Batista
The goal for WWE backstage this summer is to elevate Roman Reigns into a main event performer, so that he can be utilized in a high profile pay per view match against Triple H soon. At Extreme Rules 2014, WWE planted the seeds for that by having Reigns spearing and pinning Batista to get the victory for the Shield. The moment gave him some further credibility.
May 5, 2014
Daniel Bryan
WWE wanted to have a really visually memorable moment for Daniel Bryan at Extreme Rules 2014, so the decision was made over the weekend to utilize a forklift backstage and in the arena. The heavyweight champion used the vehicle to cart Kane back to the ring. Bryan also used it as a platform for his flying headbutt finisher, which Kane kicked out of.
May 5, 2014
Baron Corbin
In an interesting move, Jason Jordan and Baron Corbin are being brought in for Extreme Rules 2014 tonight. The two of them are also scheduled to be backstage at Monday Night Raw and Smackdown as well. There is a very good chance that the two WWE NXT performers will be used in some sort of role tonight, despite neither one of them being rumored for a main roster promotion.
May 4, 2014
Batista
In an interesting twist to a real life story, rumors are floating around today that Batista has changed his mind about leaving WWE. Initially, it was believed that he would be taking off after Extreme Rules 2014 tonight, but it now looks like the former world heavyweight champion is going to be keep working until Payback 2014. Batista does still need time off to promote his movie later on this year, though.
May 4, 2014
Batista
In a rather interesting move, Batista rejected a match against Daniel Bryan at Payback 2014. WWE wanted Batista to do the job for Bryan at the show, but the former world heavyweight champion refused because he felt that his character had already lost momentum by tapping out at Wrestlemania 30. Since he does not want to work the pay per view, WWE is allowing him to leave shortly after Extreme Rules 2014.
May 3, 2014
Ric Flair
As of right now, Ric Flair is not scheduled to make an appearance at Extreme Rules 2014, despite being brought to Monday Night Raw for a big segment. He is flying to California on Saturday to do an autograph signing, and he has a flight from there directly to Atlanta afterwards. Extreme Rules is being held in New Jersey on Sunday, so barring a last minute change, Flair will not be involved.
May 2, 2014
Big E Langston
Initially, WWE was expected to give a big push to Big E Langston upon winning the Intercontinental Championship, but some things changed backstage and that never came to fruition. Since Langston has lost so much momentum over the last couple of months, WWE is seriously considering putting the IC title on the rising Wade Barrett at Extreme Rules 2014.
May 1, 2014
El Torito
Over the last decade, it has been repeatedly stated that the creative department likes to do segments that amuse Vince McMahon, and it appears that they have done that once again by pairing Hornswoggle and El Torito together in a WeeLC match at Extreme Rules 2014, where the performers will most likely work with small ladders, tables and chairs.
April 29, 2014
Daniel Bryan
Officials are said to be really pleased that the WWE Network is around because the Extreme Rules 2014 buyrate is no longer a priority. Vince McMahon is said to be a little easier to deal with because he is not obsessed with boosting those numbers like he normally is. If the buyrate was still a priority, then it would be unlikely that we see Daniel Bryan and Kane headlining Extreme Rules 2014.
April 27, 2014
Big E Langston
With the pay per view just days away, there are some early predictions for Extreme Rules 2014 already. Many in the industry believe that Wade Barrett will take the IC title from Big E Langston because of the momentum that he has built up. A lot of people believe that Bray Wyatt will be given a win over John Cena to get some of his heat back. Almost no one believes that Kane will win the WWE title from Daniel Bryan.
April 27, 2014
Curtis Axel
As is usually the case with every pay per view, you can expect WWE to do last minute additions to the Extreme Rules 2014 match card. Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Curtis Axel and Ryback are expected to get the seventh match on the card. If WWE needs another filler match, then Emma, Santino Marella, Layla El and Fandango are the top candidates for that spot.
April 27, 2014
Randy Orton
For a good period of time there, the belief was that Randy Orton would be the mystery partner for the baby faces in the main event of Survivor Series 2014. There is a chance that might still happen. The former world heavyweight champion is backstage with WWE right now. Management could pull the trigger on a last minute change and have Orton, who was off filming a movie, replace one of the current team members.
November 23, 2014
Randy Orton
Since it has been heavily rumored for months now and the seeds are clearly visible on Monday Night Raw, the Randy Orton baby face turn is taking place very soon. The former world heavyweight champion, however, is said to not be extremely happy about the switch. Orton has long felt more comfortable portraying a heel. He is said to be willing to go through with the turn, if it increased his chances of moving up the ladder and moving more merchandise.
October 31, 2014
Randy Orton
WWE is promoting Hell in a Cell 2014 as having a double main event, and the reason behind that is simple. They do not believe that Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are proven draws yet, even with the big steel structure and a highly entertaining feud behind them. Thus, the reliance on John Cena and Randy Orton, two guys that the company has relied on for years now, to help sell the pay per view.
October 14, 2014
Randy Orton
Management dedicates a lot of their creativity to events such as Royal Rumble 2015. With Randy Orton being penciled in for a baby face turn and a push, there are discussions going on backstage about having him do that at during the big battle royal. A potential story would have the former world heavyweight champion rebelling against the Authority and their wish to have Seth Rollins winning the match.
October 9, 2014
Randy Orton
After spending more than a decade on the road for the company, Randy Orton and WWE have come to a new agreement that will enable the former world heavyweight champion to have some more time off. A modification in the contract now allows Orton to skip out on various live events throughout the year. For a long stretch of time there, he was featured as one of the headliners on the tours.
October 9, 2014
Randy Orton
On Monday Night Raw, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon announced that John Cena and Dean Ambrose would be facing one another in a match at Hell in a Cell 2014, and the winner would get to work the main event against Seth Rollins in the gigantic steel structure. October 7, 2014
Randy Orton
In order to create new matches in the main event scene, WWE is contemplating a baby face turn for Randy Orton in the near future. The belief is that a feud between the two will be taking place very soon.
September 30, 2014
Randy Orton
Reports surfaced over the last couple of days that Chris Jericho was going to be working his last show for WWE at Night of Champions 2014 in a match against Randy Orton. There is now speculation that the former world heavyweight champion might stick around shortly after that before leaving, similar to what Rob Van Dam did before taking his break from WWE recently.
September 17, 2014
Randy Orton
It looks like another wrestler is upset with WWE and wants time off. This time, it's Randy Orton. The former world heavyweight champion is said to be really upset with how management has been utilizing him. The belief is that Orton feels that he should be involved in the main event scene more frequently. He has been demanding some time away from WWE, but since the roster is so thin right now, management has only been able to give him time away from live events over the last couple of weeks.
September 16, 2014
Randy Orton
There is a little bit of a dilemma backstage in WWE right now when it comes to the Roman Reigns push. Management does not want to put the title on him just yet because they feel that it would be more effective to let him do it at Wrestlemania 31. However, he has gone pretty high up the card already, as Randy Orton is near the top of the ladder. Management will have to figure out what to do with him over the next several months.
August 22, 2014
Randy Orton
There are those that believe that WWE will be having Ric Flair managing Dolph Ziggler after all. Their interaction on Monday Night Raw might have been the seeds planted by the creative department. Apparently, Ziggler is not in the dog house with management any more. There's even talks that he might be elevated up the card into a feud with Randy Orton soon.
August 21, 2014
Randy Orton
A little buzz was created this week when Dolph Ziggler defeated Randy Orton in the main event of a WWE live event. A lot of fans believed that this would be the start of a push for the former world heavyweight champion. However, that does not appear to be the case. Ziggler was simply substituting for Roman Reigns, who was on another tour. WWE usually lets the baby face win the final match of the night to send the live audience home happy.
August 11, 2014
Randy Orton
Since Roman Reigns is headed towards a big match against Randy Orton at Summerslam 2014, that has left many to wonder if he is still going to work a program against Triple H. That feud is definitely still on the table, as WWE believes it will be the one to catapult him into the main event scene. The company simply has yet to figure out when they want the two of them to start working together.
August 3, 2014
Randy Orton
Even though we have another pay per view before then, plans are already being penciled in for Summerslam 2014. Roman Reigns is expected to have a big role on that show, but management isn't certain on the details just yet. Right now, WWE has either Randy Orton or Triple H putting over the former Shield member. Both feuds are expected to eventually happen during this year, but the order isn't certain.

June 28, 2014
Randy Orton

The belief is that the company will set someone up to feud with John Cena and Daniel Bryan over the next few months. Antonio Cesaro has been rumored for a few weeks now, but some are skeptical of that because he hasn't been given a ton of momentum by WWE. Management will either hot shot the belt to Bray Wyatt or go with the safe route in Randy Orton.
June 16, 2014
Randy Orton
When Seth Rollins turned on the Shield and joined Triple H and Randy Orton, fans wondered which of his former partners WWE was going to have him feuding with first. It appears that the choice is going to be Dean Ambrose. The two of them worked a match at a live event in Ontario this weekend, meaning that they could have been getting in some practice before working matches on television. Rollins will eventually feud with Roman Reigns down the line as well.
June 15, 2014
Randy Orton
A lot of people are hoping that WWE doesn't rush the Roman Reigns push, and it looks like the company is taking the slow approach. While he's eventually going to get his big time feud against Triple H in, there are now rumors that Reigns will be moved into a feud with Randy Orton next. Since Orton has been one of the top stars over the last decade, this should provide Reigns with a bit more credibility.
May 30, 2014
Randy Orton
For weeks now, people backstage in WWE have been toying around with the idea of doing a heel turn with Sheamus, in hopes that it rejuvenates the former world heavyweight champion and brings him closer to the main event scene again. The idea being tossed around by WWE now is to add him join Triple H and Randy Orton in Evolution when Batista takes his break to promote his new movie.
May 9, 2014
Randy Orton
While the early rumors were that Evolution and the Shield would be doing a rematch at Payback 2014, word coming out of backstage now is that WWE is thinking about handling things a little bit differently. May 7, 2014
Batista
Over the weekend, there were talks that Batista was leaving WWE after working the big six man tag team match at Extreme Rules 2014, but the two sides made an agreement, and the former world heavyweight champion ended up sticking around. He worked Monday Night Raw this week, and he even did a match at the Smackdown taping against Seth Rollins.
May 7, 2014
Alexander Rusev
Despite picking up a win over R Truth and Xavier Woods at Extreme Rules 2014, WWE is still choosing to remove Alexander Rusev from the Hulu broadcast of Monday Night Raw. The newcomer moved up the ladder a bit this week when he was allowed to squash Kofi Kingston, but WWE officials still do not view it as important enough for Hulu viewers.
May 6, 2014
Antonio Cesaro
While the performers avoided major injuries at Extreme Rules 2014, Rob Van Dam did get beat up a bit, thanks largely to his closing segment with Antonio Cesaro. The former world heavyweight champion suffered cuts and bruises to his face after crashing down on to a trash can while doing his signature Five Star Frog Splash finishing move.
May 5, 2014
Alexander Rusev
WWE has a long history of doing things on screen that are designed to capture the interest of the mainstream media. The company succeeded in doing just that at Extreme Rules 2014 with the use of Vladimir Putin on the screen. It was designed to generate heel heat for Alexander Rusev and Lana. The Washington Post actually wrote a brief piece about the segment, so word should be spreading soon.
May 5, 2014
Alexander Rusev
Those that watched Extreme Rules 2014 last night noticed a huge character change for Alexander Rusev. Management wants to capitalize on the real life issues that the US currently has with Russia.

A running knee followed by a pin enabled Bryan to get the pin fall victory over Kane. Prior to that spot, Kane was put through a burning table and carried on a forklift, among other things.
May 4, 2014
Paige
Since WWE needed a Divas Championship match at Extreme Rules 2014, Paige was given the victory over Tamina Snuka after delivering her submission finisher. The segment was short and quick, providing only a couple of spots outside the ring. It basically served as a pay per view buffer between the steel cage match and the world title match.
May 4, 2014
Bray Wyatt
After suffering a loss at the last pay per view, Bray Wyatt needed a victory over John Cena at Extreme Rules 2014, and he got just that. Wyatt received a heavy dose of interference from Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, but Cena still managed to overcome those odds. As Cena was walking out of the cage, a kid showed up and began singing, which provided enough distraction for Wyatt to hit his Sister Abigail finisher and walk out for the victory.
May 4, 2014
Big E Langston
The first title change at Extreme Rules 2014 took place when Wade Barrett defeated Big E Langston to capture the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Alexander Rusev
WWE wanted to give Alexander Rusev a big win at Extreme Rules 2014, and the company did just that by having the big guy defeat both Xavier Woods and R Truth in a handicap match. Rusev forced Truth to submit to his camel clutch finisher. Woods was barely involved in the match, as Rusev threw him into the steel beam underneath the ring at the start of the match.
May 4, 2014
Antonio Cesaro
The triple threat match at Extreme Rules 2014 quickly became a singles match after Jack Swagger was eliminated after a combination of a superplex and flying splash. Antonio Cesaro then won the match by pinning Rob Van Dam after delivering his Neutralizer finishing move on top of a trash can. Zeb Colter and Paul Heyman had minimal involvement.
May 4, 2014

During the Extreme Rules 2014 kickoff match, El Torito defeated Hornswoggle. He picked up the pin fall victory after jumping off the top rope and driving Hornswoggle through the table. Earlier in the week, it was reported that Curtis Axel and Ryback would be receiving a shot at Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso and the WWE Tag Team Championship at Extreme Rules 2014, management has decided to put the match on the next episode of Monday Night Raw instead. A rematch at the pay per view is a possibility still.
April 27, 2014
Alexander Rusev
To give you an idea of just how predictable many believe the match between Daniel Bryan and Kane to be, some sites are not accepting bets on the Extreme Rules 2014 main event. Betting will proceed as normal for the other matches, however. The only other really predictable choice is that Alexander Rusev will squash Xavier Woods and R Truth.

Sting
A lot of fans were under the impression that Randy Orton was going to make an appearance at Survivor Series 2014, especially since he was backstage and the event was taking place in his hometown.
