In the opening match of Wrestlemania, Daniel Bryan defeated Dolph Ziggler, R Truth, Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper in a ladder match to win the Intercontinental Championship. WWE expected a great performance here, and that is exactly what they got. Lots of good spots. Very high impact. The end saw Bryan and Ziggler trading stiff headbutts on top of the ladder before Bryan knocked out Ziggler.

Earlier this week, it was reported that R Truth was being given a match at Wrestlemania because WWE wanted to reward him for all of the hard work that he puts into doing charity events for the company. Now, there are talks that his inclusion into the match is because he is on his way out of the company shortly. The belief is that they wanted to give him one final match at the biggest wrestling pay per view of the year as a sendoff.

A couple of weeks ago, no one would have believed that R Truth was going to be given a title shot at Wrestlemania. Many did not even expect him to even be on the card. As reported this week, the veteran performer is penciled in for the Intercontinental Championship ladder match. There might be a reason for his rapid rise up the ladder. The belief is that WWE is rewarding Truth with a match because of all the charity work he does.

We now know that ladders are going to play a part at Wrestlemania this year. WWE has officially announced that Wade Barrett is going to be defending the Intercontinental Championship at the pay per view in a ladder match. They also mentioned that it would be against multiple opponents. However, they failed to reveal which performers those will be. The assumption is Dean Ambrose, R Truth, Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan.
