Apparently, WWE has taken quite an interest in Lucha Underground. Triple H was one of the executives that the company sent to meet with representatives of the upstart California based promotion. The goal was to get a talent exchange agreement between the two sides, but LU officials were said to not be interested because it would not be in the best interest of their company. They feel that they can rise on their own right now.

In what has to be considered quite the turnaround after coming close to shutting things down after the first season, Lucha Underground has announced that a third season has been green lit by the El Rey network. Thanks in large part to the presence of former WWE superstar Rey Mysterio, the promotion has now been able to capture the attention of the mainstream media, as evident by their recent appearance on ESPN to promote the second season.

Since WWE had been collecting as much talent as possible, rumors of Jay Lethal finally signing with the promotion started to swirl. Well, those can be put to rest for at least another year, as the ROH World Heavyweight Champion has signed a contract extension to stay exactly where he is. The belief is that Lethal would much rather defend the world title around the globe instead of being forced to start over again in NXT, the developmental brand.

By now, most wrestling fans know that Kurt Angle will no longer be an in ring performer for TNA once his contract expires in a couple of weeks. However, reports have now surfaced that the former world heavyweight champion is in negotiations with the company on a new contract, which would see him being an ambassador for the promotion. Angle would also be working with younger performers and teaching them how to become a star.

In a sign that TNA may be loosening up the purse strings again, reports have surfaced that the company had negotiations with AJ Styles about a potential return that would have seen the former world heavyweight champion return to the promotion in time for their debut on POP TV. The two sides were not able to reach an agreement in time. Plus, Styles currently has a favorable deal on the table from WWE.

As of you may already know, WWE is currently doing a tour of India. There was a little bit of backlash towards the promotion, though, as advocate groups wants the live events banned due to an on screen incident back in 1998 where Kurt Angle grabbed the Indian flag and blew his nose in it. World Wrestling Entertainment issued a public apology and suggested that the idea behind the segment belonged to Angle himself.

Since he is about to leave Japan and head over to the United States to start working for WWE soon, many would assume that Shinsuke Nakamura would be spending his days at home packing. However, the New Japan star is currently in Sri Lanka on vacation. Nakamura is expected to be back with his home promotion in the near future, as a special press conference has been planned to announced his department and future plans.

Over the weekend, Tommy Dreamer worked live events for WWE in Charleston and Canton. After that, he should be done with the company for the time being. The belief is that Dreamer will return to TNA and work backstage at Impact Wrestling. Tommy is said to be leaving World Wrestling Entertainment on really good terms, so it would not be impossible to see him making another return to the promotion some day.
