From the very moment that GFW was announced, various names in the industry have been attached to rumors about possibly joining the new promotion. One name that was off the radar has actually become the biggest name to join. Eric Bischoff and Jeff Jarrett revealed that they were finalizing negotiations, so that the former will be able to help the latter run the company. Considering their combined resumes, this is a major step forward.

CM Punk fighting in Chicago

Many fans automatically assumed that the UFC debut match for CM Punk would take place when the promotion does a pay per view in his hometown of Chicago. It makes all the marketing sense in the world to do that because the audience would more than likely be hot for the former world heavyweight champion. However, during an interview, Punk stated that it was unlikely to happen because the pressure would simply be too much to handle.

From early on in his career, Cody Hall became married to the idea that he would not rush to sign with WWE. He wanted to be well traveled and well trained before accepting his destiny in the biggest wrestling promotion in the world. That move has turned out rather well because his stock has been rising pretty rapidly in the industry. Hall could conceivably jump ahead of other performers when he finally joins the developmental program.

Hideo Itami to Japan

When WWE signed Hideo Itami, it wasn't simply because he was a great in ring performer. They signed him because he was well known in Japan. That made him a valuable marketing asset for them. The company is going to capitalize on that in May when they send Itami back to his home country to do some promotional work for the two live events that they are planning to run in July. You can expect Itami to be featured on those shows.

Global Force Wrestling tour

Another step forward has been taken by Jeff Jarrett and GFW. An announcement has been officially made about an upcoming tour this summer. The promotion will hold shows at various minor league sports stadiums across the country. Jarrett has already secured several dates for Global Force Wrestling, and he is still negotiating more shows as well. The company is expected to announce some recognizable names for their roster soon.

Since he happens to be the most popular professional wrestling commentator of all time, Jim Ross is a candidate for every opening in any promotion across the world. House of Hardcore is no exception. You can expect Tommy Dreamer to place a call to Ross now that he has a television deal that will enable his promotion to be seen in several countries across the globe. Earlier in the week, Ross stated that he had an interesting deal on the table.

Taz to House of Hardcore

While it is way too early for anything to be finalized, the speculation is that Taz is indeed a candidate to become one of the commentators for House of Hardcore now that Tommy Dreamer has managed to pull off an international television deal for his promotion. No word yet on if he has a non compete clause with TNA, but Dreamer works for the company, so he might be able to convince the front office to let the move happen.

House of Hardcore on Fight Network

If you ever hear Tommy Dreamer saying that he is going to do something, then you should believe wholeheartedly that he is going to put his best efforts into making it happen. The legendary ECW star has taken a huge step forward for House of Hardcore. An official announcement has been made that the promotion will start airing shows on Fight Network. The deal is for eight episodes with an option to extend that even further in the future.

TNA stars working elsewhere

In order to help their performers make more money each year, TNA has decided to modify the rule that prevents them from working in other promotions. In the past, special permission was granted for the wrestlers to work on cards promoted by Tommy Dreamer, Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy. Now, they are free to work internet pay per view events for smaller independent companies. ROH is still not an option for the wrestlers, however.
