The Survivor Series, one of the biggest WWE pay per views of the year, is upon us this weekend. Here's a preview of the event.

First, the facts about the Survivor Series.

The event will take place on November 22, 2009 in Washington D.C. The Verizon Center will be the venue for the 23rd edition of the Survivor Series.

The following matches have been announced.

• Mickie, Kelly, Eve, Gail, and Melina vs Michelle, Beth, Jillian, Layla, and Alicia
• John Morrison, Shelton Benjamin, Evan Bourne, Matt Hardy, and Finlay vs Miz, Jack Swagger, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, and Drew McIntyre
• Kofi Kingston, MVP, Mark Henry, Christian, and R Truth vs Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, and William Regal
• Rey Mysterio vs Batista
• Undertaker vs Chris Jericho vs Big Show
• John Cena vs Shawn Michaels vs Triple H

Survivor Series Match Previews

Here's an in-depth look at each of the six matches that have been booked for the Survivor Series.

• The divas match is just something that the company threw together. Quite interesting to see which divas that the company has faith in. There's talks of Alicia Fox getting a push, which means that she's a candidate to get the pin. If not her, then Mickie will gain a measure of revenge on Layla and Michelle.
  
  PREDICTION: Mickie, Gail, Kelly, Melina, and Eve
  
  
• It's nice to see just how far Miz and John Morrison have come. They're both leading their own teams into the Survivor Series. Since the heels have more guys that are in line for a push, I'm going to predict that they win.
  
  PREDICTION: Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Drew McIntyre, and Sheamus
  
  
• Disregard the other guys in the match. This is all about Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton. Expect to see Kofi Kingston getting the win to set up a singles match between the two at the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs pay per view.
  
  PREDICTION: Kofi Kingston, MVP, Mark Henry, Christian, and Shelton Benjamin
  
  
• It's nice to see a fresh feud like the one between Batista and Rey Mysterio. Going to be interesting to see how the audience reacts to a heel Batista, who happens to be from Washington D.C. Expect to see Batista destroy Rey Mysterio and move up the ladder.

• Got to hand it to WWE for coming up with an interesting format for both main event title matches. With WWE trying so hard to get us to believe that DX will be a cohesive unit, that increases the chance of a heel turn here. This could be where we get to see another feud between Triple H and Shawn Michaels.

• With Chris Jericho attacking the Big Show on Smackdown this week, this particular triple threat match becomes a more traditional one. It's going to be everyone for himself. As much as I want to see Chris Jericho with the title, it doesn't appear that WWE is ready to take it away from the Undertaker.

Closing Thoughts

With two strong main event to pave the way, the Survivor Series should be worth watching. Plus, there's bound to be some entertaining spots in the traditional Survivor Series tag team matches.
