Heath Slater backstage

The status of Heath Slater is now in question again. Earlier in the week, reports surfaced that he was being allowed back at WWE live events, now that his assault charges have been dropped. It was said that the Royal Rumble would be his opportunity to make a return. Slater was actually backstage last night at the pay per view, but management decided to not utilize him. That has led to speculations that they might be hesitant to use him again.

Bo Dallas backstage

Another person that was backstage at the Royal Rumble on Sunday and not used was Bo Dallas. That piqued the interest of some because the pay per view had been the targeted date for his return for quite some time now. No word yet on WWE opted against postponing his comeback from an injury, but it could be something as simple as management wanting to save the segment for an episode of Monday Night Raw or Smackdown.

Finn Balor hurt

Earlier in the week, we reported that Finn Balor might have suffered some sort of injury during an NXT live event. There were some who thought that he might have just been selling the match. Some new details have emerged, and it is starting to look like he really is hurt. Balor was given time off from live events this weekend, which lends some credibility to the possibility of him being really injured. No word on when he will be returning.

Zeb Colter return

According to rumors, there have been no timetable set backstage by WWE for the return of Zeb Colter. While officials still view him as a valuable asset for the company, there is no sense of urgency in bringing him back, especially since there are no plans for pushing Jack Swagger from now until Wrestlemania. Since that is the case, there is a good chance that they might hold off the well spoken manager until that point in time.

Cena vs Rusev

Everyone already knows that John Cena is essentially guaranteed a spot at Wrestlemania as long as he is healthy. However, there have been questions as to whom WWE will have him work with on the pay per view. Things were made a bit clearer after the Royal Rumble. During a post show segment, Cena worked a backstage interview brawl with Rusev. The feud was heavily rumored because the latter needed to fight a big name star.

The Rock not happy

You can count The Rock as one of the millions and millions of people worldwide who were not happy with how the Royal Rumble went down. He reportedly is upset with how the Daniel Bryan elimination went down. WWE upset a lot of the fans in the arena by doing that, which put a lot more pressure on the Great One to pull them back in at the end for Roman Reigns. Management underestimated the potential backlash.

WWE inducting Arnold Schwarzenegger

If you are one of those fans that hate seeing celebrities being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, then you are going to hate this bit of news. The company has officially announced that Arnold Schwarzenegger will be among the class members who will be honored at Wrestlemania this year. Vince McMahon loves that he still has a lot of name value, so this should definitely bring in the mainstream media attention that he craves.

Bubba Ray returns

One of the more entertaining things that took place at the Royal Rumble on Sunday night was the return of Bubba Ray to WWE. Fans in Philadelphia, the home of ECW, absolutely ate it up, and there were plenty of positive responses within the internet wrestling community. Questions immediately sprung up about his status with the company. As of right now, the man formerly known as Bully Ray in TNA, is just signed for the one time appearance.

Randy Orton backstage

Those that watched the Royal Rumble last night noticed that Randy Orton was not one of the 30 contestants, even though he was heavily rumored and actually advertised for the pay per view. He actually was backstage and dressed in his ring gear last night, which means that he has been medically cleared to wrestle again. Management simply opted to postpone his return because they felt that the timing was not right last night.
