Unfortunately, though, that was never the plan. During a podcast interview with Chris Jericho, the wildly underrated Wade Barrett revealed a canceled story line that might not have gone over very well with the audience. When WWE was in Chicago last year, they wanted to take a jab at the fans by having Barrett impersonate CM Punk, who had left the company. Management changed up the plans at the very last minute and do an alternate segment with Paul Heyman teasing the audience.
