One of the biggest names on the independent wrestling circuit is Chris Masters, and GFW has managed to snag him in. He was officially announced as a member of the roster today by Jeff Jarrett at a press conference in Las Vegas. Since leaving WWE, Masters has been able to maintain a busy schedule as promoters find him reliable and popular. He has also worked extensively overseas, something Global Force Wrestling values.

Getting one of the top tag teams in New Japan was not enough for Jeff Jarrett. He went out and signed another one. Lance Hoyt and Davey Boy Smith Jr have both signed a contract with GFW. They will be a regular part of the roster, while also continuing to do tours of Japan. That way, they can maintain their international name value. While the two of them did not find a lot of success in WWE, they have established themselves as stars overseas.

It appears that WWE is having issues with gaining interest from fans in Australia. The company has announced that they are bringing Hulk Hogan along with them for the tour in August. He will be serving as a general manager of the three shows that they will be running. Generally, you only take Hogan overseas whenever it is deemed necessary because the cost of doing so is said to be pretty high. Management recently used him in Japan.

When it was initially reported that Lilian Garcia had suffered a knee injury, there were not a lot of details available. All we knew was that she needed surgery and was going to be taking a break from WWE for rehabilitation. The longtime announcer has now revealed that she was injured while packing her bags during an overseas tour last November. She tore her meniscus while standing up. Lilian also revealed that she will be back by June.

There appears to be a minor rift between executives in TNA and the people running Destination America. Dixie Carter and her staff love taping episodes of Impact Wrestling in England because those shows tend to be more exciting than the ones that are taped domestically. Network officials, however, prefer that all the episodes be done in the United States because that fits the theme of their channel a lot more than doing things overseas.

A memorial was held in honor of Perro Aguayo this week. He passed away after an accident in the ring during a match. Konnan, who was the first person to check on Aguayo after the incident, was there in person. Rey Mysterio, however, was not. The belief is that he felt that his presence would be a distraction and might actually upset a couple of people who blame him for the death. Mysterio is currently heading overseas for wrestling show.

In a rather interesting but not unexpected move, WWE is pairing up Finn Balor and Adrian Neville during their tour of Europe. For the shows in Ireland, Balor has been working as the face and picking up the victories. He works as a heel during shows in England, where he has been taking the loss. Balor is from Ireland, while Neville is from England. A big reason why the two of them were signed is so they can be marketing assets overseas.

In a sign that the company might be more popular overseas than in the United States, TNA is reportedly about to announce that they are going to be doing major tours in China, India and Australia. Word going around is that the deals are finalized for the first two countries, but the front office is just waiting to complete the contracts for the third one before making the big announcement. Dixie Carter is taking a pretty bold step here.

It is no secret that Daniel Bryan really wants to wrestle his good friend Shinsuke Nakamura at the next Wrestlemania. Well, his friend is coming to the United States to work, but it will not be for WWE. Nakamura has signed on to work a couple of live events for ROH. He will be doing four shows in Philadelphia and Toronto, along with several other stars from New Japan. The belief is that more overseas stars are headed for the show as well.

Since he is viewed as a major marketing chip in Europe, Finn Balor is currently overseas with the top WWE stars as they tour the continent. He and Sheamus are both from Ireland, so the hope is that they can draw in a packed house. Another reason why Balor is on the tour is because management is seriously considering a promotion to main roster in the near future. This would enable the front office to get a much closer look at him.
