Reason Why Triple H and Sheamus Were Not on Raw

According to Dave Meltzer, there are reports going around that Sheamus suffered a concussion at Sunday night's Elimination Chamber PPV and was not at RAW last night in Indianapolis as a result. It appears that the original main event for RAW was to be John Cena vs. Sheamus where the winner would get the title shot at Wrestlemania. Triple H was also kept off the show since he is expected to feud with Sheamus leading into Wrestlemania.

What You Didn’t See on Raw

Thanks to Edward for sending in live notes from Monday's RAW from Des Moines, Iowa:

- For Superstars, they taped:

* Evan Bourne & Primo vs. Chavo Guerrero & Carlito
* Gail Kim vs. Katie Lea

After RAW:

- Sheamus got on the microphone after Raw went off of the air and said that if Cena wants his WWE Title match, he can have it right now.

Sheamus Comments on His WWE Career So Far

WWE Champion Sheamus commented on his roller coaster ride of a rookie year with the company during an interview with Brian Fritz of AOL Fanhouse. "Brian, it's been an absolute roller coaster from the time we spoke in FCW, my WWE tenure has been like a dream come true," Sheamus said. "I started out with an opportunity in ECW in June. I got moved over to Raw because I was beating up everybody in ECW and they felt sorry for the entire roster.

"Then on Raw, I became the WWE Champion in six weeks and now I'm going to the Royal Rumble as the WWE Champion. Actually, my first pay-per-view as WWE Champion is going to be at the Royal Rumble, a very special pay-per-view for me actually. One I've always loved watching as a kid. I remember, coming from Dublin, Ireland and being five hours ahead, I'd sneak downstairs with my parents asleep just to watch that at 2, 3 o'clock in the morning. So, this is very special for me. So far, it's been an incredible couple of months." To read the full interview, visit AOLFanhouse.com.

John Morrison Comments on Sheamus’ Push

In an interview with SLAM! Wrestling, WWE star John Morrison says that he didn't know he was not advertised for the Royal Rumble match, saying, "Holy crap," Morrison said. "This whole time I thought I was. I'm sure I'll be in there."

In terms of climbing to main-event status, Morrison said, "I think my path has been a slow rise, I think a lot of people rise too quickly and they find out when they get there -- I think Sheamus is going to find out -- that they haven't really earned the respect of the WWE Universe or the locker room, and they're going to end up falling flat, falling back down the card and either walk back up to the top or just fall right down and stay down."

Orton Gets WWE Title Shot Because Cena is Experiencing Back Problems

The original plan before this past weekend was for Sheamus to defend the WWE Title against John Cena at the Royal Rumble PPV. Those plans were changed with Randy Orton getting the Title shot.

The match may have been changed because word is that John Cena is plagued by back problems with bulging discs. No word yet on the severity of Cena’s injury or what may come out of it.
