Mickie James Undergoes Surgery
WWE Diva Mickie James had surgical procedures yesterday and today in an attempt to clear out a bad staph infection.
The location of the staph infection has not been revealed as this point (looks like lower leg), but it's bad enough that doctors advised James to undergo the surgery immediately which she has done.
James confirmed this story on her Twitter account. She posted a photo of her leg wrapped up in a large cast.
Mickie James Interview
In an interview with The Wichita Eagle, Mickie James apparently defends the "Piggie James" storyline poking fun at her weight.
"Everyone was probably picked on at some point in their lives," James told Kansas.com. "So it really touches people's heartstrings. Everyone knows how that feels or can relate to that in some way. People can become involved in that because they can feel it."
The WWE Women's Champion also commented on her passion for pro wrestling despite her foray into the country music world.
"I love wrestling," she said. "That's what I do, that's who I am. I'm an athlete. I think (music) is just a different part of me. It's not just Mickie James the wrestler who you see every Friday night, it's a little piece of the other side, the part you wouldn't know about me."
John Cena Had Mickie James Moved to Smackdown?
It was reported last month that the other reason Mickie James was moved to SmackDown — besides an apparent weight issue — was because she was getting heat for being too emotional about a relationship she was previously involved in. Hence, certain people on Raw wanted her moved to SmackDown and "out of their hair."
For those curious, the person in question is John Cena, as she had not quite gotten over their split the previous year. Cena has since gotten married with James still having feelings for him, which led to friction backstage.
Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer, who published the original report, posted the following cryptic remark in response to those doubting his story on why James was moved to SmackDown in a "Mickie James dating John Cena" thread on the www.f4wonline.com message board:
"Remember the story about the girl being switched brands because she was having a fling with one of the big stars and he was trying to get rid of her and she was all emotional about it.
"I don't either. Maybe it was just a dream."
Mickie James Beginning Her Music Career
Mickie James will make her live concert debut on February 22nd in Nashville, TN as a part of the Dustin Wells Gift of Music concert. Mickie will share the stage with country music stars Rascal Flatts, Kellie Pickler, Jason Michael Carroll, Keith Anderson and Little Big Town.

Ted sent word that Country Weekly magazine noted recently that WWE Women's Champion Mickie James will indeed be defending at WrestleMania this year.

Update on Mickie James’ Music Career
A press release was sent out yesterday announcing that WWE Diva Mickie James is now an official member of The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). The organization tracks and protects artists' royalties and compensation. The press release noted that Mickie's first album is almost complete and that she co-wrote several of the songs on the album. The album is expected to be completed this week with the first single hitting the radio in February.

Dave Meltzer said this past week on Wrestling Observer Radio that the other reason Mickie James was moved to Smackdown — besides an apparent weight issue — was that she was annoying certain people backstage on RAW by being too emotional about a relationship she had just broken up from. Company officials felt it was best to move her "to get her out of their hair."
Mickie James in Minor Car Accident
WWE Diva Mickie James was involved in a minor car accident on New Year's Eve. The back of her vehicle was hit by a teen driver who had been texting on their phone. James' fortunately was unhurt.

During an interview with NorthJersey.com promoting tonight's Smackdown/ECW television taping at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, Mickie James reveals whether she was hesitant to go through with WWE's storyline tackling her weight.
"Well, no, because I don't think I'm heavy, for one. I'm only 130, 135 pounds. But at the same time, no, because it's entertainment," James explained. "Is it my favorite? I don't really know. I guess we'll have to see where it goes. It depends on the payoff. We're telling stories and we're building emotional things where people can actually connect with it. And I think that a lot of women in general, society has put on this thing where every female should look like Paris Hilton who is 6-foot something, and 100 pounds. That's not how America is and that's not how the real women in the world look."
The Smackdown Diva also explains why she finally opened an account on a social networking site — that being Twitter.
"I'll tell you what happened. I flipped out finally. I've been pretty angry with so many people posing [as me]. Fans come to me and they'll be like, 'Oh I talked to you on MySpace all the time.' And I'm like, 'No you don't.' I have given this speech that I don't have a Facebook or MySpace a thousand times … the reason why I haven't gotten one is because it's beyond me as to why all these people can pose as me on a forum, but my manager told me — she pretty much made me — she said I had to get something. She's trying to work me into getting a Facebook and a MySpace just for my own personal [needs], 'cause I'm also working on a country music album right now."
