Backstage News for TNA Impact Tapings

The overall atmosphere at the last set of TNA television tapings in Orlando was described as being much more different. Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff seemed more comfortable and much more humble.

The feeling is that it may have something to do with TNA President Dixie Carter with one source adding, "She's pretty insistent on keeping a positive workplace and it was getting ugly there for a while."

Verbal War Between Eric Bischoff & HTM

Eric Bischoff ripped into The Honky Tonk Man on his Facebook page once again.

“Washed up douche bag dying to become relevant,” Bischoff wrote. “HTM…WalMart called. They said you can have your job bag if you promise to leave the dead gimmick behind.”

Bischoff also posted that he found HTM's next career, with a link to a YouTube video of the Nathan's Famous 4th of July Hotdog Eating Contest.

Moments later, Honky responded by writing:

“F— you, Bischoff. I wouldn’t piss on you if you were on fire. You made those comments on (Bubba The Love Sponge’s radio show) without even knowing Jeff (Jarrett) called me up. You couldn’t hold (Vince) McMahon’s jock strap. 1.0 (rating).”

Eric Bischoff Comments on Monday’s Impact

On his Facebook account, Eric Bischoff responded to a fan’s post regarding Monday’s Impact. He wrote:

“On the contrary, we are all convinced (as are most fans) that we proved definitively that we can produce a superior product. While it is going to take some time (and consistency) to gain the market share we hope to gain, we are thrilled with the product we presented, and are more than excited about the future.”

Potential Problem with Vince McMahon vs. Bret Hart at Wrestlemania

As we reported, Eric Bischoff recently posted the following message on his Facebook page:

"Allegedly WWE found out about a Lloyds of London policy that Bret had in effect AFTER setting up this match, and as a result Lloyds of London has to approve of the physical structure of the match. Can't confirm this, and perhaps WWE has 'bought out' the problem, but if not, could be disappointing. Either way, I am looking forward to it and am happy for Bret. Going back to WWE in any capacity was the right thing for him to do at this stage of his life."

Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com has gotten this confirmed from a source within WWE. It is believed that the story broke right before Hart's January 4th return. This could explain why WWE was teasing a tag-team match for a few weeks, but perhaps they were able to work things out with Lloyds.

Honky Tonk Man Has Some Harsh Words for TNA

Former WWE star The Honky Tonk Man has posted the following blog on his official website:

“Seems Bischoff has more stroke than Hogan. Hogan lays back lets Bischoff take the heat. Old days gone by, good cop, bad cop. TNA will be dead in 12 months. Jeff Jarrett is too smart for this. Who is working who? Is Jeff working southern bell Dixie or is Jeff working all of them to get a payday off Hogan. I know these Jarretts from way back!”

  • Fan: "Was Meng as crazy as his on screen character?"
EB: "He had his moments. For the most part he was (and still is) one of the kindest and gentlest people you would ever want to meet. Unless you were a rude and disrespectful ass, in which case you would wish you were a world class track star."
  • EB On Honky Tonk Man suing TNA and Bubba: "HTM is a joke."
  • EB On Jeremy Borash Being the Most Obnoxious person in wrestling?: "Without a doubt!"

Eric Bischoff Comments on This Week’s Impact Rating

Eric Bischoff posted a message today in response to this week's 1.1 Impact rating:

"How did the Olympics do? Think there were many men 18-49 watching? Seriously, we have known from day one that the way to gain market share and grow ratings is just like I did in 95. The wrestling audience gathers on Monday nights. Have for almost 2 decades. Giving them an option and getting them to sample our product will increase the ratings."
