CM Bashes Twitter Users
CM Punk was hanging out with New Found Glory member Chad Gilbert this weekend and posted a photo on Gilbert’s Twitter with his thoughts on the social networking website. Punk’s caption read: “Twitter is for dorks.”
Reason Why Serena Deeb Was Chosen For The Straight Edge Society
One of the reasons Serena Deeb was brought up to WWE's main roster is because she was the only woman in developmental that was willing to get her head shaved for the storyline with CM Punk. Some of the Divas in FCW who turned the opportunity down did themselves no favors.
Armando Estrada’s Restaurant Names a Sandwich After CM Punk
Baby's Steak and Lemonade, a restaurant in Glendale, Arizona owned by former WWE personality Armando Estrada, has announced that they have named a sandwich after SmackDown superstar CM Punk. The sandwich itself bears the same name as Punk, and the menu describes it as follows: "This straight edge wrestles a grilled chicken breast, marinara sauce, provolone served on fresh baked bread."
Joey Mercury’s Return Confirmed
Former WWE Tag Team Champion Joey Mercury WILL be returning to WWE. We have learned that Mercury signed a new contract last week and it is being said that he will skip going to WWE's official developmental territory and will be called up to either RAW or SmackDown.
As we reported earlier, one major idea for Mercury is to put him on SmackDown and have him join The Straight Edge Society faction alongside CM Punk, Luke Gallows, and Serena Deeb. Mercury was released from WWE back in 2007 because of an addiction to painkillers, so it's thought that if he does come to SmackDown and join the group, his angle will be based on his past release - however, this has not been confirmed as of yet.
Joey Mercury To Re-Debut As Part of CM Punk’s Stable?
One idea currently being discussed by the WWE creative team is to have Joey Mercury return on the Smackdown brand as part of CM Punk’s Straight Edge Society. Mercury was released in 2007 and it is well documented that he had a pain killer addiction, so the angle would likely be played off from this.
Rey Mysterio Narrowly Avoids Injury
Rey Mysterio avoided a major injury at a Smackdown/ECW live event last week where he was teaming with Kane to face CM Punk & Luke Gallows.
Rey was standing on Kane’s shoulders when Kane started walking before Rey was in place. Rey fell backwards towards the turnbuckle and landed with all of his weight on the left leg. The match was immediately stopped. Referee Jack Doan spoke with Rey, who confirmed he was hurt. Rey rolled out to the floor for a while before the match was re-started. Kane worked the next few minutes by himself and Rey did come back in but only for a few quick spots. Rey limped to the back but did work the TV tapings two nights later and has worked several shows since then.
