Planned Ending for TNA Impact
As if it weren't obvious by watching, ProWrestling.net recently confirmed that the original plan for the ending of the TNA Impact show this past Monday night was scheduled to see Jeff Hardy hit his Swanton Bomb off the top rope onto AJ Styles to set up their program for next Monday night.
The main event went too long, however, and the cameras went black right as Hardy was ascending to the top rope for the final spot on the show.
Big Match Planned For Impact Next Week
Dave Meltzer reports that RVD and Jeff Hardy vs. AJ Styles and Desmond Wolfe is planned for tonight's TNA Impact tapings in Orlando. Tonight's tapings will air next Monday night.
Impact’s Opening Segment?
According to prowrestling.net, the big board backstage at the Impact Zone lists an opening segment for tonight as an in-ring angle with the participants of tonight's main event - Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Abyss and AJ Styles.
TNA officials are keeping specific information off the backstage board today so it's possible that there's more to the opening segment than what's listed on the board.
TNA has been heavily hyping the "first 5 minutes" of the show which leads some to believe there may be more to it. It's possible that TNA is keeping things a secret and something is planned to open the show that will push back the in-ring angle with the four wrestlers mentioned.
Main Event for Live Impact on Monday, March 8 Revealed
At the Tuesday night TNA Impact tapings, it was revealed that Hulk Hogan will team up with Abyss to take on Ric Flair and AJ Styles on the March 8th edition of Impact which goes head-to-head with WWE RAW.
This will be Hogan's first match in the United States since April 2007 and Flair's first U.S. match since Wrestlemania 24 against Shawn Michaels.
Ric Flair Interview / Ric Flair Planning to Wrestle Again in TNA
The following are highlights from a Ric Flair interview with Hamptonroads.com:
After a 36-year career, Flair called it quits in 2008.
Again, his exit was short-lived.
Wooooooooo!
Flair made several cameo appearances on WWE after retiring. He did autograph sessions for smaller independent promotions, including one in Norfolk. Last year, he took part in Hulk Hogan's Australian Hulkamania Tour and caused an Internet sensation when he bloodied Hogan at a news conference.
He longed to get back to his storied place in the spotlight.
TNA had the fix.
"I just missed the business, and they created a very nice opportunity for me," said Flair, who made famous his figure-four-leg-lock finishing move. He said he already had a good relationship with talent relations coordinator Terry Taylor.
"I wasn't sure if it was something I wanted to do. But I'm a big fan of (TNA star) Kurt Angle, and working with Hulk in Australia really showed me how much I missed things."
TNA has made it perfectly clear during its broadcasts and pay-per-views that it intends to challenge WWE for its spot as the No. 1 wrestling promoter in the world. TNA's lineup is stocked with former WWE superstars and talented newcomers.
"They really are in the right mold, and they have the money to create a good product," Flair said. "They're going to get really better in a real short period of time. And I'm excited about the chance to be a part of that."
Flair's role currently has him advising TNA champion A.J. Styles, much to the chagrin of Hogan, who also recently signed with the organization in a "boss-man" role designed to help take TNA to the top.
The two megastars already have had on-camera confrontations.
"The feud thing with Hogan will play out later," Flair said. "The story line right now is that they've made all these changes to be competitive, and I'm just a part of that."
And yes, Flair fans, the Nature Boy will be getting back into the ring.
"Yep," Flair said. "And probably sooner than later, much to my dismay.
"Things are happening quickly."

Update on AJ Styles / Ric Flair Storyline
Part of the idea with the new Ric Flair and AJ Styles storyline is to make AJ a guy who stands out in a crowd, which is why TNA is looking at asking him to bleach his hair blonde. The idea in the angle is that AJ is great inside the ring and Flair is supposed to teach him how to be a World Champion outside the ring.
Updated: Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff Radio Interview
Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff appeared on Howard 101 on Friday with Bubba The Love Sponge to give "The State of TNA" address.
- Bischoff's response to Honky Tonk Man saying he's coming to TNA: "I'd rather drive a rusty icepick through my eye than work a day with him." Honky's worthless and can't draw flies." Bischoff said the story is complete BS.
- Bischoff claims he doesn't know anything about TNA moving to Monday nights, nor the March 1st show.
- Hogan said he's pushing for Impact on Mondays everyday but also denied it's happening soon. He said March 1st would indeed be a good starting point though.
- Hogan would love to have Randy Savage in TNA to manage Black Machismo.
- Bischoff: "Lacey is scary hot."
- Bischoff and Hogan are high on Desmond Wolfe.
- They put over Pope big time too (especially Bischoff).
- Hogan: "Abyss is awesome and he's my next John Cena.
- Hogan said TNA's big selling point for the Montreal Angle is that they have Earl Hebner and WWE doesn't
- On naming talent they could bring from WWE, Hogan says he'd want Cena, Orton and Big Show cause he's never been used right. Bischoff disagrees: "I don't think he's ever been committed. I have a problem with Show. He's always been lazy."
- Caller: If you HAD TO fight one guy in TNA who would it be? Hogan: Depends on how full of himself AJ Styles gets.
- Hogan said that "inside sources" claim the original plan was for Bret Hart to face Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania.
Backstage Info on Ric Flair in TNA
At the last set of Impact tapings, Ric Flair was getting to know people more and was telling people he loved being there since he felt he was being used right by managing the World Champion AJ Styles. Flair was shown a ton of respect backstage with the wrestlers and agents in awe. Flair’s interviews also got race reviews from those in the company. The idea of the Flair character in TNA right now is for him to be kind of like the JJ Dillon of 2010.
