Kofi Kingston Interview
In an interview with TheSun.co.uk, WWE Raw star Kofi Kingston was asked in a UK Sun interview says he was one of the last people to find out that he'd be feuding with Randy Orton. "This whole development has been pretty recent, I still don't know what's in store, except that there'll be some high-quality matches. You pick a fight with Randy Orton, you have to step up to the plate. I'm going to step up and try to hit a home run."
When asked about dropping the Jamaican gimmick, Kingston said WWE legends like Steve Austin, The Rock and Triple H all had gimmicks before they broke out. "I think this is about me making a transition, a progression to the next level.
Kingston also spoke about his dream opponent "There's a few, but growing up, Shawn Michaels was a big influence on why I watched wrestling and why I got into wrestling ... It would bring my career full circle, because he got me into wrestling, and now here I am pursuing my lifelong dream."
RVD Talks About Hulk Hogan Joining TNA
Rob Van Dam was on Monday Night Mayhem and one of the hosts Mosh asked RVD if TNA sounds more interesting now with the signing of Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan.
RVD replied stating “With Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff in TNA now it‘s a very interesting time in the wrestling business, and in a positive way. Now that Hogan and Bischoff are there, it is definitely putting a lot of energy on TNA, a lot of focus, a lot of eyes. Now if they can follow up with it, they can utilize that and really really grow. I don’t normally put faith in the writers, it’s not a very safe bet to do, and that is very necessary because if you‘re still in the small arenas and still have the same lack of big merchandise deals and exposure, then basically what you’ve done is written some big checks and pissed off a lot of the other guys, who feel like they been paying their dues and the money should be coming their way, but they gotta understand business.
Those people aren’t Hulk Hogan. It doesn’t matter if they been working for no money for 10 years and then hoping it will come back around to you. If you are not main event material or marketable that people are gonna buy tickets to go see, then you are gonna continue working for cheap or not gonna work at all, and that’s what a lot of them gotta realize too. It is more appealing because it raises the stakes. I have had conversations on business levels with both companies and it seems that neither company wants me to sign with the other company. Interesting. I’m not looking to go out and go somewhere. Still a good chance I won’t do anything, but still appealing than it was a couple weeks ago, you got me there.”
Kevin Nash Comments On Incident On Impact
Thanks to PWRShow.com for the following statement from Kevin Nash:
Thought I would clear up some internet bulls***. The reason I did not receive a letter from T.N.A was because this matter was discussed between President Dixie Carter and myself. I promise you it cost me money not a paid vacation at my beach home. I understand Dixie's reason for the action she has taken but stand by my reaction to what at the time appeared a serious neck injury to josh.
Eric Bischoff Comments On Internet Rumors
On his Twitter account, Eric Bischoff has posted regarding certain online rumors concerning himself. He wrote:
“Getting a real kick out of all the speculation and 'inside knowledge' being spread in the internet…pretty funny.”
JR Blog
Jim Ross has posted a new blog at JRsBarBQ.com and here are some highlights...
On DX’s RAW Commentary: DX’s commentary on the main event was entertaining. For a former Raw announcer, their remarks were amusing. At least it was a change of pace and was a new element added to the presentation.
On Kofi Kingston: Good to see Kofi Kingston, who’s now from his original homeland, continue to get his at bats. Kofi and Orton represent in ring youth which is a really Good thing on which to build. Kofi’s next few months of TV exposure will be crucial in his development as fans seem to be curious as far Kofi can go. I happen to feel that Kofi has a distinctive upside. However, too many stubbed toes or false starts seem to be the kiss of death with many of today’s fans.
On Sheamus: The continued evolution of Sheamus, the big Irish guy with no last name, is something that I’m enjoying. Hopefully, this build will be consistent and not rushed as it is obvious to me that Sheamus, the big Irish guy with no last name, has marketable potential. I like his size, physicality, and obvious toughness and he also has a strong work ethic and desire to not just be a player to be be a main event player. Sheamus is one of the most intriguing personas in WWE right now for my money. Can you imagine how fast Sheamus would progress if he were managed by a red hot, mouthpiece who was relevant in today’s marketplace?
On Chris Jericho And The Big Show: Until the duo of Jericho and Big Show lowered the boom on the heroes Monday night, Raw felt like a somewhat, light hearted broadcast which isn’t an indictment. I never felt any serious “fan angst” watching the show until the last few in ring minutes. For a PG rated TV show, this feedback isn’t unusual or negative. It’s simply what it is.

Update on Stone Cold, DDP and JBL Going To TNA
- WWE apparently has Steve Austin signed to a long-term guaranteed money contract to prevent him working for another wrestling company. Even is Austin wasn't under contract, his main focus would still be acting.
- TNA has still been trying to bring in JBL but at this point he's said to be not interested.
- DDP has been telling people that he might be interested in going to TNA if his upcoming indy matches turn out well. With that being said, he is not expecting to have another TNA run.
Update on Lacey Von Erich
Regarding Lacey Von Erich, many within TNA feel she has zero locker room etiquette and is not respectful, on top of being "horrible in the ring." The feeling is she won't even last six months in the company.
In another circumstance which has her co-workers scratching their heads over, she's the only person backstage who stays in her wrestling gear all day long at television tapings. The third generation wrestler refers to it as her "costume."
Bobby Lashley About To Sign With Strikeforce?
Sherdog.com has reported, during an exclusive interview with Bobby Lashley, that the TNA star is very close to signing a multi-year deal with Strikeforce, a Mixed Martial Arts promotion. The article notes:
"In this exclusive video interview, Lashley describes just how he balances MMA training and fighting with his role as a TNA Wrestling star, how negotiations with Strikeforce and the UFC have or haven't progressed and how he isn't like Brock Lesnar."
WWE Management Concerned About Twitter
According to the Wrestling Globe Newsletter, there has been recent internal discussion about what to do with talent and their Twitter accounts. This has been brought on by the likes of Matt Hardy, Chavo Guerrero, and Shad Gaspard making controversial late-night comments and even going back several months to Joey Styles and his political rants against Barack Obama. There are some in management, although not many, that see Twitter as a promotional tool. Others in management want all talent banned from posting messages under their gimmick names, or at least Tweeting after Midnight. The company wants to avoid being connected to anything that would upset those who matter such as sponsors and advertisers.
