Overreacting to Visits
For some odd reason, there's just so many people who overreact whenever a wrestler visits another wrestling promotion.

Behind Enemy Lines
A couple of days ago, Tommy Dreamer and Nunzio went to a wrestling show. It created quite a buzz with wrestling fans.
The reason was because Tommy Dreamer and Nunzio, both employed by WWE on the ECW brand, were at a TNA show.
A few fans immediately started to bash Nunzio and Tommy Dreamer for fear that they were going to jump ship and join TNA.
Over the weekend, CM Punk was also spotted at a Ring of Honor show.
When word got out, a few fans become instantly defensive by talking about how ROH doesn't pay their wrestlers nearly as good as WWE does.
Imagine how much more of a reaction Tommy Dreamer, Nunzio, and CM Punk would have gotten had they actually been involved in the show itself.
They weren't.
Tommy Dreamer and Nunzio were sitting in the audience. Brother Ray (formerly known as Bubba Ray Dudley) acknowledged him in front of the audience, but that was the extent of that.
CM Punk was basically just backstage. |
Visitation Rights
Those who make a big deal out of wrestlers visiting another wrestling promotion simply do not understand how the wrestling business works. They're also the ones that take the "WWE vs TNA vs ROH" thing way too seriously.
What's funny is that if these particular fans were to go up to a wrestler and bash another wrestler from another wrestling company, the wrestler would probably just shrug it off. In some cases, they might even tell you that you're wrong to think that way.
You see, there's a brotherhood in wrestling that is bigger than some people can imagine. The wrestlers might pretend to hate one another on television. They might even take slight jabs at other wrestlers in interviews. However, the majority of the wrestlers all get along rather well.
If Edge and Christian Cage were in the same city and their schedules allowed them to, they more than likely would be seen sharing a meal together. If Kurt Angle and Triple H bumped into one another at an airport, they more than likely would shake hands and have a brief conversation.
When Brock Lesnar, who a lot of wrestling fans despise because he walked away from wrestling, was doing his first UFC fight, guess who was in the audience? That's right. Undertaker, Steve Austin, JBL, and Kurt Angle. They were all there to support their former coworker.
Granted, there's going to be a few incidents. Ron Killings and John Cena had a minor confrontation at an airport last year, but that had more to do with personal issues as opposed to it being a "WWE vs TNA" thing.
