WWE Incest Storyline
Just when you think you've seen it all in the world of professional wrestling, WWE surprises us yet again. The incest storyline has finally began.

Obsessed With Incest
It's a well known fact that Vince McMahon has always wanted an incest storyline in WWE.
He wanted to try something with Ken Shamrock and his "sister" Ryan Shamrock. WWE even teased it a bit with the Beaver Cleavage storyline from several years back.
Recently, there was an idea being tossed around about Vince McMahon revealing himself as the father of Stephanie McMahon's baby (fortunately, Stephanie McMahon put a stop to that).
Well, Vince McMahon gets what he wants. The incest storyline began on Monday Night Raw this week. It will star the talented Paul Burchill and his "sister" Katie Lea Burchill.
Paul Burchill made his debut in a victory over poorly used Brian Kendrick. The gimmick is that Paul Burchill will be winning as many matches as possible to please his "sister". Katie Lea, who showed an impressive amount of comfort on the mic, seductively hinted that there will be rewards for success.
How far this storyline goes depends on how the crowd reacts. It'll also go as far as the USA Network allows them to go.
We all know that Vince McMahon is going to be giving it as many chances as possible, though. This is his pet project. |
Pushing Paul Burchill
While the majority of wrestling fans have already expressed a distaste with the incesty storyline, it's almost a unanimous opinion that the storyline will be tolerated because it does give Paul Burchill a push.
A lot of fans aren't all that familiar with how talented of a worker that he is. Paul Burchill was tearing things up in OVW. He's got good promo skills, and he's excellent in the ring (way better than what you saw on Monday Night Raw this week).
He's also got an incredible back flip Rock Bottom. You should look that up if you've never seen it. It's on the same level of amazement as Petey Williams' Canadian Destroyer.
A few fans will remember him as "the pirate from Smackdown". Those fans probably have no idea about his skills. There a lot more emphasis on character than wrestling when Paul Burchill was doing the pirate gimmick. Then again, when you're wearing a pirate outfit in the wrestling ring, people aren't really going to notice how fundamentall sound you are.
The incest storyline isn't likely to get Paul Burchill a run with the WWE Heavyweight Championship. It doesn't need to go that far in order for the storyline to be a success. In fact, we hope it doesn't last more than a few months. We just hope that Paul Burchill gains enough exposure from this storyline to earn himself another gimmick and a serious run at the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
