TNA iMPACT! Going Live
Starting as soon as March of this year, TNA iMPACT! could be going live every other week. That's the next natural progression for the company.

Live! Live! Live!
People said TNA wasn't going to last a year. That was approximately 5 years ago.
People said TNA wasn't good enough to have a weekly televised show. Fox Sports Net and Spike TV didn't agree with that and gave them some television time.
People said TNA wasn't going to be able to get more than an hour of television time. In October of 2007, Spike TV gave them a new contract and an additional hour for TNA iMPACT!
There's a lot of things that TNA wasn't supposed to do, but they're doing it. Apparently, management and the wrestlers are listening to the critics who wish that they would fail.
TNA has achieved a lot more success than most people thought they would. The next logical step for them (aside from doing house shows nationwide) was to go live.
In about a month or so, TNA will start experimenting with live television. The experiment should beging with every other weekly show. If that goes well, then TNA will probably start going live every week.
By going live, TNA should be able to quiet the critics who bash them for not having the "surprise" aspect that Monday Night Raw has. |
Knockout Branch Out
If you're still one of those that have yet to check out the TNA women's division, you're missing out. It's the hottest division going in professional wrestling today. By focusing more on actual wrestling than looks, TNA has produced a division that has everyone excited.
Among those that are excited are the executives from Spike TV. They're so excited about the division that they've offered TNA a 2nd weekly TV show. The network wants an hour of TNA Knockouts a week.
As fun as the division has been, there is a concern that it won't survive as a standalone program. Of course, with only a few women on the roster, TNA would have to acquire more talent.
You can expect TNA to look into acquiring some familiar faces. Some of the recently released WWE divas could possibly be brought in to help get the brand going. Brooke Adams, Kristal Marshall, and others could find themselves back in the business. Depending on the schedule, TNA might even be able to convince Trish Stratus and/or Lita to make a return to the business as well. Of course, they would require quite a bit of cash and a highly reduced schedule. TNA might be willing to do that in exchange for the name value that those two ladies have.
Another place TNA might look is SHIMMER, which is an independent wrestling company featuring women wrestlers. Some of the best female wrestlers in the world are wrestling for SHIMMER. The matches have rank among the best matches in North America (even when compared against the male wrestlers).
Closing Thoughts
TNA is slowly but surely developing. They're nowhere near as big as WWE is, but that's perfectly fine. They don't have to reach that level just yet. |
