Streak Against Streak at Wrestlemania
With the card for Wrestlemania shaping up as we speak, management has to put the Undertaker's streak on the line against another streak.

Let's Go Streaking
In 1991, the Undertaker made his Wrestlemania debut by defeating the legendary Superfly Jimmy Snuka. He hasn't lost a match at Wrestlemania since then.
The streak is one of the most valued streak in all of wrestling in the eyes of wrestling fans. Just the mere mention of the possibility of someone ending the streak would cause you to get quite a tongue lashing.
Edge has quite a winning streak at Wrestlemania going as well. It's not nearly as long and illustrious as the Undertaker's streak, but it's still a streak nonetheless.
We know there are those of you out there who say that Edge was defeated last year in the Money in the Bank match. However, if Vince McMahon and his writers tell the fans that Edge is undefeated, then 80% of the fans are going to blindly believe it. In the world of professional wrestling, that makes it a fact.
Wrestlemania is all about hype and marketing.
A match between two guys who has never lost Wrestlemania would produce incredible hype for the company. Throw in the fact that the World Heavyweight Championship would be on the line and you have yourselves a match worthy of headlining Wrestlemania. |
Should He Lose?
Like we said earlier, just the mere thought of the Undertaker losing at Wrestlemania is considered sacrilegious by the majority of wrestling fans.
Wrestling is predetermined, but we don't have to tell you that. Undertaker has won every match at Wrestlemania because Vince McMahon and the writers wanted him to win every match. They make the decision on who wins and who loses. The winning streak will never be held as highly as a winning streak from an actual sport (remember, wrestling is "sports entertainment").
What the streak does represent, though, is the respect and admiration given to the Undertaker. The reason why Vince McMahon and the writers chose to allow him to win all those matches is because the fans admire him, and management respects him. There was probably also some politicking as well, but then again, how many successful wrestlers haven't engaged in that wrestling pastime?
With all of that in mind, an Undertaker loss at Wrestlemania wouldn't be the end of the world. However, with the state of wrestling as it is today, it's probably better for the Undertaker to win the match and the World Heavyweight Championship.
Of course, he would have to lose the title back the next week on Smackdown, though. Edge and his cronies would do something dastardly to take the belt back. Why would they do that, you ask? Well, imagine the heel heat that Edge would have from doing this. After a glorious victory at Wrestlemania, the hero then gets robbed afterwards by some cowardly heels. It might even cause a riot.
Closing Thoughts
If the Undertaker faced anyone else at Wrestlemania, it would be a major disappointment. |
Chris Harris
Through his blog Chris Harris has announced that he has officially signed his contract with WWE now. He should be making his debut on TV soon. |
|
Shark Boy
Shark Boy's new gimmick (Stone Cold Steve Austin impersonator) came about after someone backstage heard him doing the impression. |
Balls Mahoney
For those of you that have been asking, Balls Mahoney is still currently employed by WWE. Management just doesn't have anything for him at the moment. |
|
Boogeyman
Boogeyman is also still currently employed by WWE. He just hasn't been used because the writers don't have a storyline for him to work with. |
Raven
There are now reports that Raven may not necessarily be done with TNA. Of course, it could just be a thing where he gets paid per appearance. |
|
Candice Michelle
There are talks that Candice Michelle could be winning back the WWE Women's Championship from Beth Phoenix at Wrestlemania this year. |
Matt Hardy
Matt Hardy is expected to return soon and resume his feud with MVP. The two are expected to have a huge match at Wrestlemania this year. |
|
Christopher Daniels
Christopher Daniels is expected to continue using the Curry Man gimmick for a while. The character has a huge cult following in Japan. |
