Suspension
Right now, the only thing that's known about the suspension is that DH Smith will be out of action for 30 days. The type of drug that he was using has not yet been revealed.
Smackdown's Chris Masters was suspended for 60 days because this is the second time that he has violated the WWE Wellness Program.
Steroids
Like we stated above, the type of drug (or drugs) that DH Smith was using has not been revealed. More than likely, WWE will not be revealing that bit of information.
However, the majority of people are already speculating that it's steroids.
Like Father Like Son
It's not fair to DH Smith, but he'll always be linked to his father for every action he takes now that he's officially on the WWE roster.
Every wrestling fan knows that his father, the British Bulldog (real name Davey Boy Smith), died at the age of 39 after suffering a heart attack. Experts believe that his previous drug use may have contributed to the heart attack.
With his father's early and untimely death, all eyes will be on DH Smith to see if he stumbles into the same pitfalls as his father did. |
First Strike
WWE recently started a new policy where they will now publicly reveal the names of wrestlers who have been suspended for violating the WWE Wellness Program.
It is believed that the move was done for public relations purposes. Regardless, the move can be quite useful in helping wrestlers get over their little "habits".
Some people feel that DH Smith got his big break in the wrestling business when he was born. Officially, though, he got his big break a couple of weeks ago when he was called up to the main roster.
In wrestling, only a handful of people not named "Randy Orton" get 3rd and 4th chances. Despite having a ton of marketing potential because of his size and his heritage, WWE would still be willing to release DH Smith if the problem persists. Just take a look at his cousin, Teddy Hart. The guy is easily one of the most entertaining performers in the wrestling business. WWE gave him plenty of chances. After they realized that it wasn't going to happen, they cut their losses.
DH Smith needs to realize that he's still young and has a better shot at becoming either the WWE Heavyweight Champion or World Heavyweight Champion than most other wrestlers. He's already gotten to the big game. He just needs to figure out how to stay in that game.
Closing Thoughts
DH Smith needs to prove people wrong by having a long illustrious career in wrestling and living a long life. |
