Eliminated
Ashley Massaro stood up to the self appointed leader of her group and ended up being eliminated from Survivor: China because of it.
Tensions arose between Ashley Massaro and Dave Cruser, a 37 year old man from Simi Valley, California. The two were part of the Zhan Hu group that also consisted of Steve "Chicken" Morris, Erik Huffman, Jaime Dugan, Michael "Frosti" Zernow, Peih-Gee Law, and Sherea Lloyd.
Dave Cruser had decided to take on the role of team leader much to the chagrin of the other team members.
The hungry team members had an issue with Dave Cruser because of issues related to building a fire. Ashley Massaro was not happy with the way the team was taking forever to do things and urged the team leader to get a fire created before rain fell.
Dave Cruser refused and stated that he was willing to give Ashley Massaro a fight if that's what she really wants. He even asked her, "How many fires have you lit, sweetheart?"
Either he's trying to show authority to the rest of the team or he hasn't grown out of the elementary school strategy where you pick fights with girls to show them affection.
We're betting that Ashley Massaro isn't going to be keeping in touch with him. |
Second Choice
Ashley Massaro was not the initial choice for Survivor: China. When the television executives came calling, they wanted a male wrestler sent over to participate in the show. The WWE, however, didn't feel that they could afford to send a make performer, so they sent Ashley Massaro instead.
Personally, if we were in charge of things, we would have sent Umaga. We also would have told him to stay in character, too. That would easily make Survivor into a "must see" TV show.
Publicity
Though it wasn't a priority, WWE was hoping that Ashley Massaro would have won the entire thing. The marketing potentials from winning the competition would have been great for both WWE and her.
It might have even helped Survivor's ratings a bit as well since a lot of wrestling fans tuned in to see Ashley Massaro on the show. Wrestling fans are always curious to see their favorite performers in an environment outside of the ring as it provides further clues as to how their personalities truly are.
Return
The entire competition has already been taped. Contestants were required to stay out of the public's eye before the episodes starting airing on CBS. Now that she's been eliminated, it won't be long before we see Ashley Massaro back on Smackdown.
Closing Thoughts
Well, it would have been great to have seen Ashley Massaro winning the whole competition, but at least now we'll get to see her back on Smackdown. |
