TNA Should Sign Paul Heyman

The WWE and Paul Heyman have quietly parted ways. With TNA looking to expand and improve their product, this should be their biggest free agent target.

Dismembered in December The last time Paul Heyman had creative input into the new ECW was at the December to Dismember pay per view. December to Dismember was the first and only WWE pay per view that was solely an ECW brand show. It was also one of the worst pay per views of all time. For some reason, the WWE expected people to buy a pay per view where only two matches were promoted. Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy faced off against Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury in an interbrand tag team match. Bobby Lashley, the Big Show, Rob Van Dam, Hardcore Holly, CM Punk, and Test battled inside an Extreme Elimination Chamber over the ECW Heavyweight Championship. The rest of the show was basically filled with matches that you would normally see on a regular episode of ECW on Sci Fi. Vince McMahon placed the blame on Paul Heyman, despite the fact that he worked without complete creative control. Many believed that Paul Heyman was being set up to fail. Ever since then, Paul Heyman has been collecting a paycheck from the WWE without having to actually work. The WWE was willing to pay him to keep him away from the competitors.

Making an iMPACT! in TNA

TNA has been working around the clock this year in an attempt to expand their product.

They've recently announced that TNA iMPACT! would be receiving an additional hour of television after signing a new deal with Spike TV. TNA has also been working pretty hard at trying to acquire as many recognizable names as they can to draw in new fans. They've even taken the risk of signing troubled NFL star Pacman Jones in hopes of generating some publicity.

However, their biggest and best signing could be Paul Heyman. Bringing him in isn't as simple as it sounds, though.

Very few people can argue against the fact that Paul Heyman is brilliant when it comes to writing good wrestling storylines and developing characters. His ability to constantly create new stars in ECW as wrestlers were leaving left and right for bigger paychecks was simply amazing. His work in OVW was pretty evident as the overall product improved under his management.

TNA already has a writing staff in place. Putting Paul Heyman on the staff doesn't necessarily make full use of his abilities. He needs to be in charge. Let Jeff Jarrett and Dixie Carter continue focusing on the business side of things (which they've been doing a solid job of lately). Let Paul Heyman create his magic in the ring and on television. It's a potentially great combination.

John Cena

The chant that was heard during the final segment on Raw was "You can't wrestle!", which was directed towards John Cena. That looked really bad.

Mark Henry

Apparently, the fans weren't too happy that Mark Henry was in the main event at Unforgiven as fans were chanting "TNA!" during the main event.

Reports claim that former WWE star Jazz has signed with TNA and is expected to make her debut at Bound For Glory. There's supposed to 5 new women.

There's talks that the Rock has agreed to work a high profile match at next year's Wrestlemania. His rumored opponent is Shawn Michaels.

Jim Duggan

Jim Duggan may have injured his knee during his flag match against Daivari on Monday Night Raw last night. He was seen limping pretty badly afterwards.

The man that played the father wanting to adopt Hornswoggle on Monday Night Raw was Ed Koskie, who is a member of the Raw writing team.

Rikishi

TNA wanted to use the name "Keesh" or "Kishi" for Rikishi, but they changed it to "Junior Fatu" instead to avoid being sued by the WWE.

The WWE has offered any wrestler who has been under contract with them the opportunity to go to rehab free of cost (the WWE will pay the bill).
