WWE Suspends 10 Wrestlers
Vince McMahon has been called a wrestling genius many times in the past. He's going to need every ounce of that magic now that ten of his wrestlers (some of whom are main eventers) have been suspended.

The List
The following WWE performers have been named in the investigation.
- Randy Orton
- Charlie Haas
- Edge
- King Booker
- Shane Helms
- Simon Dean
- Santino Marella
- John Morrison
- William Regal
- Mr Kennedy
- Chavo Guerrero
- Chris Masters
- Batista
- Funaki
At least ten of those performers have been suspended. The WWE has already notified them, but they will not reveal the names until November.
Of course, those of us who tune into the shows will easily be able to identify who has been suspended.
Probe
The suspensions came after the WWE received independent information from the Albany, New York District Attorney.
Albany District Attorney David Soares has been investigation an illegal internet drug distribution ring.
All of the WWE suspended were investigated in that particular probe. |
Bad Timing
These suspensions couldn't have come at a worse time for the WWE. A few weeks ago, the WWE gained the attention of the nation (in a bad way) when Chris Benoit, Nancy Benoit, and Daniel Benoit died. Then, they gained the attention of the government as Congress is now demanding drug records from Vince McMahon and company.
From the wrestling side of things, this is a bad time for this to happen as well. A few of their most popular stars like Bobby Lashley and the Undertaker have yet to return from serious injuries. Plus, the WWE roster is pretty low on talent at the moment anyways with much of the roster filled by underdeveloped guys being utilized on the main shows.
Vince McMahon and his writing staff are going to be have to get even more creative to produce a solid show now.
Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero & Brian Adams
Two deceased former world champions, Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero, both received steroids and other drugs from Signature Pharmacy in Orlando. This is the same company that the above listed wrestlers received drugs from as well.
Brian Adams, who recently passed away, was another name mentioned in the probe.
MLB and NFL
The WWE stars are the first to be disciplined for involvement in this drug scandal, but they won't be the last.
It's being reported that several players from the National Football League and Major League Baseball have been named as well in this probe. It'll be interesting to see how the commissioners of each league handles the situation.
Closing Thoughts
If you think things are bad now, it's going to get worse. This is just the start. |
