Johnny Knoxville Signed For SummerSlam
Johnny Knoxville has officially been signed to participate in a match at SummerSlam.
Knoxville will join Jackass co-star Steve-O in a match against a group of WWE wrestlers. It is also expected that one or more members of the Jackass crew will be involved in the match as well.
When the reports first surfaced, wrestling fans were pretty disturbed by the rumor that the Jackass crew was going to be involved in three separate matches. Fortunately, it's been revealed that they'll be involved in one big tag team match.
There's still no word yet on whether or not the match will be the SummerSlam main event.
There's also no word yet on who the WWE wrestlers will be in the match. The biggest rumor involves Umaga being in the match. Umaga has had a history with the Jackass crew. The WWE did a segment on Raw where Umaga attacked Steve-O and Chris Pontius in the ring.
Wrestling fans were especially bothered by the last Jackass skit because Steve-O and Chris Pontius basically broke tradition by laughing as they were attacked. By doing so, they legitimately irrritated Umaga, who proceeded to really rough them up.
There is a big fear that the Jackass crew will make a mockery of wrestling at SummerSlam, but Vince McMahon needs to bring more attention to the WWE, so he'll take the risk. |
